تأهل فريق أستون فيلا الإنجليزي إلى الدور ربع النهائي من بطولة الدوري الأوروبي لكرة القدم، عقب فوزه على ضيفه ليل الفرنسي بهدفين نظيفين، في اللقاء الذي جمعهما أمس على ملعب «فيلا بارك» بمدينة برمنغهام البريطانية، ضمن إياب دور الـ(16) من المسابقة.
وسجل هدفي أستون فيلا كل من جون ماكجين في الدقيقة الـ(54)، وليون بايلي في الدقيقة الـ(85)، ليؤكد الفريق تفوقه بمجموع المباراتين بنتيجة (3 - 0)، ويلاقي بولونيا الإيطالي في الدور القادم.
وفي مباراة أخرى، حجز نوتنغهام فورست مقعده في الدور ذاته بعد فوزه على مضيفه ميدتيلاند الدنماركي بركلات الترجيح بنتيجة (3 - 0) على ملعب «إم سي إتش أرينا» بمدينة هرنينغ الدنماركية، عقب تعادل الفريقين بمجموع المباراتين (2 - 2)، حيث انتهى الوقت الأصلي بفوز فورست بنتيجة (2 - 1).
ويواجه نوتنغهام فورست فريق بورتو البرتغالي في الدور ربع النهائي.
