سجّل مروان عطية وياسر إبراهيم أول أهدافهما بقميص منتخب مصر، ليقودا «الفراعنة» إلى الفوز على بنين بنتيجة 3-1، وحجز بطاقة التأهل إلى دور ربع النهائي من بطولة كأس أمم أفريقيا المقامة في المغرب، في مواجهة امتدت إلى شوطين إضافيين. وشهد اللقاء رقماً قياسياً جديداً لمحمد صلاح، الذي تخطى مدرب المنتخب حسام حسن في عدد المشاركات بالنهائيات القارية، فيما تعرّض المدافع محمد حمدي لإصابة قوية خلال الشوط الأول، غادر على إثرها الملعب محمولاً على نقالة وسط تأثر واضح.
وجاء هدف التقدم المصري في الدقيقة 69 عبر تسديدة متقنة من مروان عطية من خارج منطقة الجزاء استقرت في الزاوية العليا للمرمى، قبل أن ينجح جودل دوسو في إدراك التعادل لبنين بالدقيقة 83، مستفيداً من كرة عرضية تغيّر اتجاهها بعد اصطدامها بأحمد فتوح لتخدع الحارس محمد الشناوي.
وفي الشوط الإضافي الأول، واصل عطية تألقه بصناعة هدف التقدم مجدداً، بعدما أرسل عرضية دقيقة قابلها ياسر إبراهيم برأسية قوية سكنت الشباك. واختتم محمد صلاح ثلاثية مصر بتسجيل الهدف الثالث، ليقترب بفارق هدفين فقط من رقم حسن الشاذلي كأفضل هداف مصري في تاريخ البطولة، كما رفع رصيده إلى 22 مباراة في نهائيات كأس الأمم الأفريقية، متجاوزاً رقم حسام حسن.
Marwan Attia and Yasser Ibrahim scored their first goals in the Egypt national team jersey, leading the "Pharaohs" to a 3-1 victory over Benin, securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, in a match that extended into extra time. The match also witnessed a new record for Mohamed Salah, who surpassed national team coach Hossam Hassan in the number of appearances in continental finals, while defender Mohamed Hamdi suffered a serious injury during the first half and had to leave the field on a stretcher, visibly affected.
The opening goal for Egypt came in the 69th minute through a precise shot from Marwan Attia from outside the penalty area that settled in the top corner of the net, before Jodel Dossou managed to equalize for Benin in the 83rd minute, benefiting from a cross that changed direction after hitting Ahmed Fattouh, deceiving goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy.
In the first extra half, Attia continued to shine by assisting the second goal, after sending a precise cross that Yasser Ibrahim met with a powerful header into the net. Mohamed Salah capped off Egypt's triple with the third goal, bringing him just two goals away from Hassan Shazly's record as the best Egyptian scorer in the tournament's history, while also raising his tally to 22 matches in the Africa Cup of Nations finals, surpassing Hossam Hassan's record.
