حقق فريق أستون فيلا انتصاره السابع توالياً في الدوري الإنجليزي (بريميرليغ) والعاشر في مختلف المسابقات، بعد تغلبه على ضيفه مانشستر يونايتد بهدفين مقابل هدف، في اللقاء الذي جمعهما مساء اليوم (الأحد) على ملعب «فيلا بارك»، ضمن منافسات الجولة الـ17.
أستون يتقدم.. ويونايتد يرد
افتتح أستون فيلا التسجيل في الدقيقة 45، بعدما مرر جون ماكجين كرة متقنة إلى مورغان روجرز، الذي استلم الكرة واقتحم منطقة الجزاء قبل أن يطلق تسديدة رائعة سكنت الشباك.
ولم يتأخر رد مانشستر يونايتد، إذ أدرك التعادل سريعاً بعد خطأ من ماتي كاش على الجانب الأيمن لمنطقة جزاء أستون فيلا، استغله ماتيوس كونيا وسدد الكرة في المرمى.
إصابة فرنانديز تُربك الحسابات
وتلقى مانشستر يونايتد ضربة موجعة بإصابة قائده برونو فرنانديز، ليضطر المدرب إلى الدفع بالمدافع ليساندرو مارتينيز بدلاً منه.
وواصل مورغان روجرز تألقه، وأضاف الهدف الثاني لأستون فيلا في الدقيقة 57، بتسديدة قوية ومتقنة من داخل منطقة الجزاء.
صراع الصدارة.. يونايتد يتراجع
بهذا الانتصار، رفع أستون فيلا رصيده إلى 36 نقطة في المركز الثالث بجدول ترتيب الدوري الإنجليزي، ليشعل المنافسة مع أرسنال ومانشستر سيتي على الصدارة.
في المقابل، تجمد رصيد مانشستر يونايتد عند 26 نقطة في المركز السابع، بعد تلقيه الهزيمة الخامسة هذا الموسم.

Aston Takes the Lead.. United Responds
Aston Villa opened the scoring in the 45th minute, after John McGinn delivered a precise pass to Morgan Rogers, who received the ball and penetrated the penalty area before unleashing a brilliant shot that found the back of the net.
Manchester United quickly responded, equalizing shortly after a mistake by Matty Cash on the right side of Aston Villa's penalty area, which Matheus Cunha capitalized on to shoot the ball into the goal.
Fernandes' Injury Disrupts Plans
Manchester United suffered a significant blow with the injury of their captain Bruno Fernandes, forcing the coach to substitute defender Lisandro Martinez in his place.
Morgan Rogers continued to shine, adding Aston Villa's second goal in the 57th minute with a powerful and precise shot from inside the penalty area.
Title Race.. United Falls Back
With this victory, Aston Villa raised their points total to 36, placing them third in the English Premier League table, igniting the competition with Arsenal and Manchester City for the top spot.
In contrast, Manchester United remained stuck at 26 points in seventh place, after suffering their fifth defeat of the season.
