وفقاً للتقارير الإعلامية الهندية، تجول بطل كأس العالم 2022 حول أرضية الملعب محيياً الجماهير، لكنه كان محاطاً بمجموعة كبيرة من الحراس والمسؤولين، ما دفع به إلى مغادرة المكان بعد 20 دقيقة فقط من وصوله.
وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو من وكالة «ANI» مشجعين يرمون المقاعد الممزقة وأجساماً أخرى نحو الملعب ومضمار الجري، فيما تجاوز بعضهم السياج المحيط بالأرضية لرمي المزيد من الأشياء.

وعبر أحد المشجعين في الملعب عن إحباطه لوكالة ANI قائلاً: «كان ميسي محاطاً فقط بالقادة والممثلين، فلماذا دعونا إذن؟ دفعنا تذكرة بـ12 ألف روبية (نحو 100 جنيه إسترليني)، ولم نتمكن حتى من رؤية وجهه بوضوح».

According to Indian media reports, the 2022 World Cup champion walked around the field greeting fans, but he was surrounded by a large group of guards and officials, which led him to leave the venue just 20 minutes after his arrival.
Videos from the ANI agency showed fans throwing torn seats and other objects onto the field and track, while some even climbed over the surrounding fence to throw more items.

One fan in the stadium expressed his frustration to ANI, saying: “Messi was only surrounded by leaders and representatives, so why did they invite us? We paid a ticket price of 12,000 rupees (about £100), and we couldn't even see his face clearly.”
