وفي وقت سابق اليوم، حقق المنتخب الإيطالي المركز الثالث بعد فوزه على نظيره البرازيلي بركلات الترجيح 4-2، عقب انتهاء الوقت الأصلي بالتعادل السلبي.
وتعرض المنتخب البرازيلي لضربة مبكرة بطرد لاعبه فيتور فرنانديز في الدقيقة 14، بعد حصوله على البطاقة الصفراء الثانية.
