كشفت مصادر عن وصول رسالة أمريكية لسفير العراق في واشنطن تؤكد عدم رغبة واشنطن بحكومة «تحت تأثير إيران»، في إشارة إلى ترشيح نوري المالكي، إضافة إلى مطالبة بدمج الحشد بوزارة الدفاع.
وأضافت أن واشنطن تريد من العراق محاربة الفساد وغسل الأموال وتهريب الدولار، مع إعادة تنظيم البنك المركزي والمصارف العراقية.
كذلك تشترط أمريكا دمج عناصر الفصائل العراقية بوظائف مدنية، ونزع أسلحتها خلال فترة من 6-12 شهراً.
جاء هذا بعدما أفادت وزارة الخارجية العراقية (الخميس)، بأنها تلقت رسالة أمريكية تضمنت إمكانية فرض عقوبات على بعض الأفراد والمؤسسات حال التمسك بتكليف المالكي.
Sources revealed the arrival of an American message to the Iraqi ambassador in Washington, confirming Washington's unwillingness to have a government "under Iranian influence," referring to the nomination of Nouri al-Maliki, in addition to a demand to integrate the Popular Mobilization Forces into the Ministry of Defense.
It added that Washington wants Iraq to combat corruption, money laundering, and dollar smuggling, along with reorganizing the Central Bank and Iraqi banks.
The U.S. also requires the integration of elements from Iraqi factions into civilian jobs and the disarmament of these factions within a period of 6 to 12 months.
This came after the Iraqi Foreign Ministry reported (on Thursday) that it received an American message that included the possibility of imposing sanctions on certain individuals and institutions if the appointment of al-Maliki is insisted upon.
