انفجر المدرب الإسباني بيب غوارديولا بعد خسارة مانشستر سيتي أمام نيوكاسل 2-1 على ملعب «سانت جيمس بارك»، ودخل في نقاشات حادة مع لاعب الوسط البرازيلي برونو غيمارايش، ومع طاقم التحكيم، وحتى مع أحد المصوّرين على أرضية الملعب.
وأثار غوارديولا جدلاً بعد أن توجه عقب نهاية المباراة إلى مصور تليفزيوني ودخل في نقاش ساخن معه؛ وهو ما فجَّر التساؤلات حول تصرف مدرب مانشستر سيتي.
ورفع مدرب السيتي سماعة الأذن وهمس ببعض الكلمات للمصور التليفزيوني في مشهد لافت بعدما اعترض غوارديولا على طاقم التحكيم الذي أدار المباراة بقيادة سام باروت.
ورصدت الكاميرات غوارديولا وهو يتحدث بعصبية مع غيمارايش، قبل أن يتوجّه إلى الحكم سام باروت ومساعديه، ثم يوبّخ مصور فيديو كان يلتقط المشهد.
وعندما سُئل من هيئة الإذاعة عن مضمون حواره مع الحكّام اكتفى بالقول: «لا أسئلة، كل شيء على ما يرام»، كما قال لشبكة «سكاي سبورتس» عن حديثه مع غيمارايش: «قلت له كم هو لاعب رائع... لكن هذا بيننا».
The Spanish coach Pep Guardiola exploded after Manchester City lost to Newcastle 2-1 at St. James' Park, engaging in heated discussions with Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães, the refereeing crew, and even with a photographer on the pitch.
Guardiola sparked controversy after he approached a television cameraman at the end of the match and got into a heated argument with him; this raised questions about the behavior of the Manchester City coach.
The City coach raised the earpiece and whispered some words to the cameraman in a striking scene after Guardiola protested against the officiating crew led by Sam Barrott.
Cameras captured Guardiola speaking nervously with Guimarães before turning to referee Sam Barrott and his assistants, then reprimanding a video photographer who was capturing the scene.
When asked by the broadcasting authority about the content of his conversation with the referees, he simply said: "No questions, everything is fine," and regarding his conversation with Guimarães, he told Sky Sports: "I told him what a great player he is... but that's between us."
