تأهل كريستال بالاس إلى ربع نهائي بطولة كأس الرابطة الإنجليزية (كاراباو)، بعد فوزه الكبير على مضيفه ليفربول بثلاثة أهداف نظيفة، مساء أمس (الأربعاء) على ملعب «أنفيلد».
أنهى كريستال بالاس الشوط الأول متقدّماً بهدفين أحرزهما السنغالي إسماعيلا سار في الدقيقتين 41 و45.
وزادت معاناة «الريدز» بطرد لاعبه الشاب أمارا ناللو في الدقيقة 79 بعد عرقلته لاعب كريستال بالاس جاستن ديفيني، قبل أن يضيف يريمي بينو الهدف الثالث للضيوف قبل دقيقتين من نهاية الوقت الأصلي.
وخاض ليفربول اللقاء دون عدد من نجومه الأساسيين، أبرزهم النجم المصري محمد صلاح، الذي حصل على راحة.
العقدة مستمرة
وتعد هذه الهزيمة الثالثة على التوالي لفريق المدرب آرني سلوت أمام كريستال بالاس هذا الموسم، بعد خسارته في نهائي كأس الدرع الخيرية بركلات الترجيح 3-2 عقب انتهاء الوقت الأصلي بالتعادل 2-2، إضافة إلى الهزيمة في لقاء الدور الأول بالدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز بهدفين مقابل هدف، لتكون الهزيمة الثالثة أمس.
كما تعد هذه الخسارة السادسة لليفربول في آخر سبع مباريات في مختلف المسابقات، ما يعكس حالة الانهيار التي يمر بها بطل إنجلترا.
Crystal Palace qualified for the quarter-finals of the English League Cup (Carabao) after a significant victory over their host Liverpool, winning three goals to nil, last night (Wednesday) at Anfield.
Crystal Palace ended the first half leading with two goals scored by Senegalese player Ismaïla Sarr in the 41st and 45th minutes.
The suffering of the "Reds" increased with the red card shown to their young player Amara Nallo in the 79th minute after he fouled Crystal Palace player Justin Devaney, before Yeremy Pino added the third goal for the visitors two minutes before the end of regular time.
Liverpool played the match without several of their key stars, most notably Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who was given a rest.
The Curse Continues
This defeat marks the third consecutive loss for coach Arne Slot's team against Crystal Palace this season, following their defeat in the Charity Shield final on penalties 3-2 after the regular time ended in a 2-2 draw, in addition to the loss in the first round of the Premier League by two goals to one, making this the third defeat last night.
This also marks Liverpool's sixth loss in their last seven matches across all competitions, reflecting the state of collapse that the English champions are experiencing.
