وفي الوقت الحالي سيتولى مارتين أونيل مدرب سلتيك السابق، وشون مالوني لاعب الفريق السابق، تدريب الفريق الفائز بـ55 لقباً للدوري بشكل مؤقت.
وكان سلتيك قد خسر مباراة القمة في الدوري الاسكتلندي أمام هارتز أوف ميدلوثيان المتصدر بنتيجة 1-3 ليتسع الفارق بين الفريقين إلى ثماني نقاط لصالح النادي القادم من إدنبرة.
كما فشل الفريق في التأهل إلى دوري أبطال أوروبا في أغسطس الماضي، بعد خسارته بركلات الترجيح أمام نادي كايرات ألماتي الكازاخي، ما حرمه من عائدات مالية كبيرة.
وكان رودجرز عاد إلى تدريب سيلتيك في يوليو 2023 بعد أن تولى المهمة سابقاً بين 2016 و2019، وحقق خلالها لقبين في الدوري إلى جانب بطولة الكأس في فترته الثانية مع الفريق.
