جاء هدف المباراة الوحيد في الدقيقة 36، بعد عرضية قوية من محمد هاني حولها نيكولاس، مدافع الفريق البوروندي، خطأ في مرماه.
وشهدت المباراة خروج مهاجم الأهلي محمد شريف بين شوطي اللقاء، إثر إصابته في العضلة الضامة، ليحلّ بدلاً منه نيتس غراديشار.
