بعد أن تأهلت رسمياً منتخبات المغرب وتونس ومصر والجزائر وغانا والرأس الأخضر، تبقى 3 مقاعد مباشرة للقارة الأفريقية والتي ستُحسم عند منتصف ليل اليوم (الثلاثاء)، وستشهد أفراح التأهل للمونديال في 3 دول من بين 7 مرشحة منتخباتها لخطف بطاقات التأهل المباشرة.
المجموعة الثانية السنغال أقرب من الكونغو
بات منتخب السنغال على بُعد نقطة واحدة فقط من الإعلان رسمياً عن وصوله لكأس العالم 2026، إذ يدخل لقاءه أمام موريتانيا متصدراً المجموعة الثانية برصيد 21 نقطة حصدها من 6 انتصارات و3 تعادلات وأحرز هجومه 18 هدفاً فيما استقبلت شباكه 3 أهداف فقط، ويليه منتخب الكونغو الديمقراطية برصيد 19 نقطة، وفي حالة تعادل السنغال وفوز الكونغو على السودان سيتساوى المنتخبان في عدد النقاط (22 لكل منهما)، ولكن فارق الأهداف لصالح السنغال (+15) مقابل (+8) للكونغو، وإذا ما أراد منتخب الكونغو التأهل فعليه الفوز بشرط خسارة السنغال، أما في حالة تعادل السنغال فلابد أن تنتصر الكونغو على السودان بفارق (+7) على أقل تقدير لتحصد المقعد المباشر للمونديال.
صراع ثلاثي في المجموعة الثالثة
رغم أن منتخب بنين يتصدر المجموعة الثالثة (17 نقطة) وبفارق نقطتين عن وصيفه جنوب أفريقيا (15 نقطة) إلا أنه سيخوض لقاء صعباً يهدد صدارته، إذ سيلتقي بمضيفه منتخب نيجيريا ثالث المجموعة (14 نقطة) والذي يتمسك وبقوة بأمله في التأهل ففوزه سيجعله متساوياً بعدد النقاط مع المتصدر بنين وسيخطف بطاقة التأهل في حالة كسره لفارق الأهداف بينهما شريطة تعثر جنوب أفريقيا أمام ضيفه راوندا؛ فلذا يدخل منتخب بنين اللقاء للفوز ولا غيره ليتأهل لكأس العالم لأول مرة في تاريخه، فيما يحتاج منتخب جنوب أفريقيا لخطف بطاقة التأهل للفوز شريطة تعثر بنين بالتعادل أو الخسارة.
ساحل العاج الأوفر حظاً في السادسة
وفي المجموعة السادسة ينحصر الصراع على البطاقة المباشرة بين المتصدر ساحل العاج (23 نقطة) ووصيفه الجابون (22 نقطة)، ويكفي ساحل العاج الفوز على ضيفه منتخب كينيا ليتأهل رسمياً لنهائيات كأس العالم بغض النظر عن نتيجة الجابون وضيفه بورندي، أما المنتخب الجابوني فإنه يأمل في التأهل لكأس العالم للمرة الأولى في تاريخه من خلال الفوز وتعثر المتصدر بالتعادل أو الخسارة.

After the official qualification of the teams from Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Ghana, and Cape Verde, there are still 3 direct spots remaining for the African continent, which will be decided at midnight today (Tuesday). The celebrations for World Cup qualification will take place in 3 countries among the 7 candidates whose teams are vying for the direct qualification spots.
The second group sees Senegal closer than Congo
Senegal is just one point away from officially announcing its qualification for the 2026 World Cup, as it enters its match against Mauritania leading Group B with 21 points from 6 wins and 3 draws, having scored 18 goals while conceding only 3. Following them is the Democratic Republic of Congo with 19 points. If Senegal draws and Congo wins against Sudan, both teams will have the same number of points (22 each), but Senegal will have the advantage in goal difference (+15) compared to Congo (+8). If Congo wants to qualify, it must win, provided Senegal loses. In the case of a Senegal draw, Congo must defeat Sudan by at least a goal difference of (+7) to secure the direct World Cup spot.
A three-way battle in Group C
Although Benin leads Group C with 17 points, two points ahead of second-placed South Africa (15 points), it will face a tough match that threatens its top position. Benin will meet its host, Nigeria, who is in third place (14 points) and is strongly holding onto its hopes of qualification. A victory for Nigeria would equal its points with the leader Benin and would secure qualification if it breaks the goal difference between them, provided South Africa falters against its guest Rwanda. Therefore, Benin enters the match seeking nothing but victory to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in its history, while South Africa needs to secure a qualification spot by winning, provided Benin either draws or loses.
Côte d'Ivoire has the best chance in Group F
In Group F, the battle for the direct spot is between the leader Côte d'Ivoire (23 points) and the runner-up Gabon (22 points). Côte d'Ivoire only needs to win against its guest, Kenya, to officially qualify for the World Cup finals, regardless of the result between Gabon and its guest Burundi. The Gabonese team hopes to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in its history by winning and relying on the leader's draw or loss.
