استعاد منتخب نيوزيلندا توازنه بتحقيق فوزه الأول في كأس العالم تحت 20 سنة FIFA تشيلي 2025™ بعد أن نجح في قلب الطاولة على مصر في سانتياغو بهدفين لهدف في اللقاء الذي قاده تحكيمياً الحكم الدولي السعودي خالد الطريس.
المباراة شهدت بداية قوية من جانب المنتخب المصري الذي افتتح التسجيل مبكرًا في الدقيقة الخامسة عبر قائده أحمد كباكا بتسديدة قوية بالقدم اليمنى.
غير أن رد نيوزيلندا لم يتأخر كثيراً، حيث تمكن لوك بروك-سميث من تعديل النتيجة في الدقيقة 13، قبل أن يضيف زميله شوان لوك الهدف الثاني بعد ثلاث دقائق فقط، مستغلين ثغرات الدفاع المصري.
ورغم المحاولات المتكررة للفراعنة خلال الشوط الثاني والضغط المستمر على مرمى نيوزيلندا، إلا أن الصلابة الدفاعية التي أبداها لاعبو المدرب كريس غرينايكر حرمت المنتخب المصري من العودة في النتيجة.
وبهذه النتيجة يحقق نيوزيلندا فوزه الأول وينال أول ثلاث نقاط ليجدد آماله في التأهل شريطة الفوز على اليابان في الجولة الأخيرة، فيما تجمد رصيد مصر بدون نقاط وفي المركز الرابع والأخير.

The New Zealand national team regained its balance by achieving its first victory in the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025™ after successfully turning the tables on Egypt in Santiago with a score of two to one in a match officiated by Saudi international referee Khalid Al-Turaif.
The match witnessed a strong start from the Egyptian team, which opened the scoring early in the fifth minute through its captain Ahmed Kabaka with a powerful shot with his right foot.
However, New Zealand's response did not take long, as Luke Brook-Smith managed to equalize in the 13th minute, before his teammate Sean Luke added a second goal just three minutes later, taking advantage of gaps in the Egyptian defense.
Despite the repeated attempts by the Pharaohs during the second half and the continuous pressure on New Zealand's goal, the defensive solidity displayed by coach Chris Greenacre's players denied the Egyptian team a comeback.
With this result, New Zealand achieves its first victory and earns its first three points, renewing its hopes of qualification, provided they win against Japan in the final round, while Egypt remains without points in fourth and last place.
