شهد اللقاء سيطرة فريق برشلونة، فيما اعتمد ريال أوفييدو على الهجمات المرتدة والتي أربكت إحداها حارس برشلونة خوان جارسيا الذي خرج من مرماه وتجاوز لاعبين من أوفييدو ولكنه مرر الكرة للاعب الخطأ لتصل للاعب ألبرتو رينا ليسددها من قرابة منتصف الملعب نحو مرمى برشلونة الخالي كهدف أول لريال أوفييدو (د: 33)، وحاول برشلونة العودة للمباراة وسدد فيران توريس كرة أرضية ارتطمت في القائم ليكملها إريك جارسيا في المرمى كهدف أول وتعادل لبرشلونة (د: 56)، واستطاع روبرت ليفاندوفسكي من تعزيز النتيجة بعد أن لعب فرينكي دي يونج كرة عرضية قفز لها ليفاندوفسكي ولعبها برأسه لترتطم في العارضة ومن ثم سكنت الشباك كهدف ثانٍ لبرشلونة (د: 70)، ومن ركلة زاوية نفذها ماركوس راشفورد لتصل لرونالدو أراخو الذي لعبها برأسه داخل المرمى كهدف ثالث لبرشلونة (د: 88)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز برشلونة بثلاثة أهداف لهدف.
بهذا الانتصار، حقق برشلونة انتصاره الخامس ورفع رصيده إلى 16 نقطة، في وصافة جدول الترتيب وبفارق نقطتين عن غريمه ريال مدريد المتصدر، بينما تلقى أوفييدو الخسارة الخامسة وتجمد رصيده عند 3 نقاط وفي المركز الثامن عشر.
