أعلن لويس فان غال المدير الفني السابق لمنتخب هولندا، تعافيه التام من مرض سرطان البروستاتا، بعد صراع استمر ثلاث سنوات.
وكان المدرب البالغ من العمر 73 عاماً، أعلن في عام 2022، خلال فترته الثالثة مع المنتخب الهولندي، عن إصابته بالمرض الخبيث، في تصريح مفاجئ آنذاك.
وفي تصريحات نقلتها شبكة «BBC» قال فان غال: «لم أعد أعاني من السرطان، قبل عامين خضعت لعدة عمليات جراحية، وكانت حالتي صعبة جدًا في ذلك الوقت، لكن كل شيء سار على ما يرام في النهاية».
وأضاف: «أُجري فحوصات طبية كل بضعة أشهر، والأمور تسير على ما يرام، أشعر أنني أصبحت أكثر لياقة يوماً بعد يوم».
ويُعد لويس فان غال من أبرز المدربين في كرة القدم الأوروبية، حيث تولى قيادة عدد من الأندية الكبرى، من بينها برشلونة الإسباني، بايرن ميونخ الألماني، ومانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي.

Louis van Gaal, the former head coach of the Netherlands national team, announced his complete recovery from prostate cancer after a three-year battle.
The 73-year-old coach revealed in 2022, during his third term with the Dutch national team, that he had been diagnosed with the malignant disease in a surprising statement at that time.
In statements reported by the “BBC”, van Gaal said: “I no longer suffer from cancer. Two years ago, I underwent several surgeries, and my condition was very difficult at that time, but everything went well in the end.”
He added: “I have medical check-ups every few months, and things are going well. I feel that I am becoming fitter day by day.”
