The coach of Al Ahli Youth in the UAE acknowledged Al Hilal's superiority, confirming that the blue team deserved the victory with a score of two clean goals, based on the cohesion and technical quality they displayed.
In a special statement to "Okaz," the coach said: "We faced a strong and cohesive team, with high capabilities and players of national team caliber. Al Hilal was the better team and deserved to win because they knew how to exploit opportunities and mistakes."
He added in the press conference after the match: "We were capable of delivering a more balanced game, but what happened was that defensive errors and a lack of attacking effectiveness cost us a lot. Against a team like Al Hilal, you must be at your peak concentration throughout the match because they do not forgive small details."
Regarding the second goal that decided the match, he explained: "It came from a simple and clear mistake, a ball we were used to handling easily, but our reaction was not correct. In matches at this level, a simple mistake changes everything."
He continued: "We tried to keep up with Al Hilal and play to our capabilities. We are aware of the strength of the opponent and the quality gap, and our players know well who they faced. We can compete with teams of this size, but only if we do not make decisive blunders."
Regarding the substitutions, the coach revealed that some were forced: "A player was not 100% ready, and we planned to give him only 30 minutes. The entry of Jorge made us more defensive than we wanted, the change of the right-back was due to fear of a red card after the yellow card, and another change was imposed by injury."
On Al Hilal's right to win, he said: "Yes, they did enough to win. They were more effective and better at handling critical moments, while we lacked precision in defense and attack. If we had avoided mistakes, the match would have been more balanced."
He concluded: "Such encounters are useful for correcting mistakes. Against big teams, you need tactical discipline, high concentration, and not to give the opponent easy chances, and that is what Al Hilal did, so they deserved the victory."
