أعلن نادي ليفربول الإنجليزي، اليوم الجمعة، عن تعزيز صفوف الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بالتعاقد مع الحارس فريدي وودمان، في صفقة انتقال حر، وذلك بعد انتهاء عقده مع نادي بريستون نورث إند.
وذكر النادي في بيان رسمي عبر موقعه الإلكتروني أن وودمان، البالغ من العمر 28 عامًا، انضم إلى صفوف «الريدز» لدعم مركز حراسة المرمى.
وسبق للحارس تمثيل منتخب إنجلترا تحت 21 عامًا، ويمتلك خبرة واسعة في الدرجات المختلفة من كرة القدم الإنجليزية.
وخاض وودمان 138 مباراة بقميص بريستون نورث إند خلال ثلاث سنوات، وتم اختياره كأفضل لاعب في الفريق لموسم 2022-2023، في تأكيد على أدائه الثابت وتأثيره الكبير داخل الملعب.
كما لعب خلال مسيرته لعدد من الأندية، من بينها نيوكاسل يونايتد وسوانزي سيتي وكيلمارنوك، ما يجعله إضافة جيدة لتشكيلة ليفربول.
ويُعد وودمان الصفقة الخامسة التي يبرمها ليفربول هذا الصيف، إذ سبق للريدز إعلان التعاقد مع الثنائي جيريمي فريمبونغ وفلوريان فيرتز من باير ليفركوزن الألماني، بالإضافة إلى الحارس المجري الشاب أرمين بيتشي قادماً من أكاديمية بوشكاش، والظهير الأيسر ميلوس كيركيز من بورنموث.
The English club Liverpool announced today, Friday, that it has strengthened its first-team squad by signing goalkeeper Freddie Woodman on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract with Preston North End.
The club stated in an official announcement on its website that Woodman, who is 28 years old, has joined the ranks of the "Reds" to bolster the goalkeeper position.
The goalkeeper has previously represented the England U21 team and possesses extensive experience across various levels of English football.
Woodman played 138 matches for Preston North End over three years and was named the team's Player of the Season for 2022-2023, confirming his consistent performance and significant impact on the pitch.
Throughout his career, he has played for several clubs, including Newcastle United, Swansea City, and Kilmarnock, making him a valuable addition to Liverpool's lineup.
Woodman is the fifth signing Liverpool has made this summer, as the Reds had previously announced the signings of duo Jeremy Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, in addition to young Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Vejin coming from the Puskás Academy, and left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
