توقفت مباراة الأهلي المصري وبالميراس البرازيلي، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثانية من دور المجموعات ببطولة كأس العالم للأندية 2025، التي تستضيفها الولايات المتحدة.
الحدث وقع على ملعب ميتلايف في نيوجيرسي، إذ تسببت عاصفة رعدية مفاجئة في تعليق المباراة حفاظاً على سلامة اللاعبين والجماهير.
وأصدرت شرطة ملعب ميتلايف أوامر فورية بإخلاء الاستاد، شملت اللاعبين، الأجهزة الفنية، والمشجعين في المدرجات.
وأعلن المذيع الداخلي للملعب تعليمات واضحة للجماهير، تضمنت مغادرة المدرجات الخارجية، التوجه إلى المناطق الداخلية، واستخدام المنحدرات للوصول بأمان، مع منع التجمع عند المداخل.
وعند توقف المباراة، كان بالميراس متقدماً بنتيجة 2-0، الهدف الأول خطأ من وسام أبو علي في مرماه، أما الهدف الثاني من هجمة مرتدة سريعة أودعت الكرة شباك محمد الشناوي.
