كشفت إذاعة «راديو ماركا» أن تشابي ألونسو، المدرب المتوقع لريال مدريد، طلب من إدارة النادي تجديد عقد لوكا مودريتش لموسم إضافي، رغم اقترابه من بلوغ 40 عاماً.
وأكد ألونسو أهمية وجود مودريتش قائداً داخل وخارج الملعب لدعم اللاعبين الشباب. ورغم التوقعات بانخفاض مشاركاته هذا الموسم، خاض الكرواتي 55 مباراة وسجل 4 أهداف وصنع 9.
إدارة ريال مدريد مستعدة للتجديد بشرط خفض راتبه، ويُتوقع أن يسرّع طلب ألونسو عملية التجديد. وفي حال الاتفاق، سيكمل مودريتش موسمه الـ13 مع النادي، منذ انضمامه من توتنهام العام 2012.
The radio station "Radio Marca" revealed that Xabi Alonso, the expected coach of Real Madrid, has requested the club's management to renew Luka Modrić's contract for an additional season, despite him nearing 40 years of age.
Alonso emphasized the importance of having Modrić as a leader both on and off the pitch to support the young players. Despite expectations of a decrease in his appearances this season, the Croatian has played 55 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing 9 assists.
Real Madrid's management is willing to renew the contract on the condition of a salary reduction, and Alonso's request is expected to expedite the renewal process. If an agreement is reached, Modrić will complete his 13th season with the club since joining from Tottenham in 2012.
