فقد أعلنت السلطات المحلية يوم الخميس الماضي عن العثور على جثث المتسلقين الخمسة — وهم ثلاثة أجانب يحملون الجنسيات الإيطالية والكندية والألمانية، إلى جانب نيباليين اثنين — على علو يناهز 18,470 قدمًا فوق قمة يالونغ ري القريبة من حدود التبت، وذلك بعد أشهر من الجهود المضنية التي قادها الجيش والشرطة وعرقلتها طويلاً تراكمات الثلوج الكثيفة وسوء الأحوال الجوية. ورغم إرسال مروحية إنقاذ يوم الجمعة لمحاولة نقل الجثث، إلا أن قسوة الطقس حالت دون إتمام المهمة في الوقت الحالي، بانتظار استقرار الأجواء لعودتهم إلى أهليهم، في حين تظل هويات الضحايا بانتظار الإعلان الرسمي بينما تواصل الطبيعة البوح بأسرارها القاسية لكل من تجرأ على تحدي جبالها.

Despite sending a rescue helicopter on Friday to attempt to transport the bodies, the harsh weather prevented the mission from being completed at this time, awaiting stable conditions for their return to their families, while the identities of the victims remain pending official announcement as nature continues to reveal its harsh secrets to those who dared to challenge its mountains.
