اُختتمت في سلطنة عُمان النسخة الثانية من بطولة جبل سيفة الدولية لصيد الأسماك، بمشاركة 22 فريقاً من 10 دول، من بينها 3 فرق سعودية، وسط تنظيم عالي المستوى ومنافسة قوية.
واحتضنت وجهة جبل سيفة البطولة للعام الثاني على التوالي، تحت إشراف اللجنة العُمانية للرياضات البحرية، وبترخيص من الاتحاد الدولي لصيد الأسماك (IGFA).
مشاركة سعودية وأول حضور نسائي
شاركت في البطولة فرق من السعودية، مصر، الكويت، سلطنة عمان، إيران، تركيا، إيطاليا، جنوب أفريقيا، وسويسرا، فيما شهدت البطولة أول مشاركة نسائية في تاريخها عبر الفريق السويسري. وتأهلت الفرق الثلاثة الأولى في البطولة إلى نهائيات كأس العالم لصيد الأسماك المقرر إقامتها في كوستاريكا.
مصر تحصد اللقب.. وإيطاليا وصيفة
وتُوّج فريق بروق (Brouq) المصري بلقب النسخة الثانية من البطولة بعد أن تصدّر الترتيب العام برصيد 454 نقطة، بينما حل الفريق الإيطالي (Circolo Pesca Daltura Catania) في المركز الثاني بـ400 نقطة. وجاء فريق (Reel Addict) الكويتي ثالثاً برصيد 328 نقطة.
وفي حديثه لـ«عكاظ»، قال الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة المطورة لوجهة جبل سيفة وهوّانا صلالة وائل اللواتي: « فكرة البطولة جاءت من إقبال الزوار على ممارسة الصيد في جبل سيفة كهواية، بسبب وفرة الأسماك في هذه المنطقة، ومن هنا بدأنا تنظيم بطولة عالمية انطلقت لأول مرة العام الماضي وحققت نجاحاً ملحوظاً».
وأضاف: «النسخة الحالية شهدت تطوراً كبيراً، سواء من حيث عدد الفرق المشاركة (22 فريقاً مقابل 12 في النسخة السابقة)، أو من خلال الحضور السعودي والمشاركة النسائية».
وأشار إلى أن وجهة جبل سيفة لن تكتفي ببطولة صيد الأسماك، بل ستحتضن أيضاً بطولة للجولف، إضافة إلى تنظيم ماراثون السيفة في ديسمبر المقبل، الذي سيكون مفتوحاً لكافة الأعمار والمستويات.
The second edition of the Jebel Sifah International Fishing Championship concluded in the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of 22 teams from 10 countries, including 3 Saudi teams, amidst high-level organization and strong competition.
The Jebel Sifah destination hosted the championship for the second consecutive year, under the supervision of the Omani Marine Sports Committee, and licensed by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).
Saudi Participation and First Women's Attendance
Teams from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Iran, Turkey, Italy, South Africa, and Switzerland participated in the championship, which witnessed its first women's participation in its history through the Swiss team. The top three teams in the championship qualified for the World Fishing Championship scheduled to be held in Costa Rica.
Egypt Claims the Title.. and Italy is the Runner-Up
The Egyptian team Brouq was crowned the champion of the second edition of the championship after topping the overall standings with 454 points, while the Italian team Circolo Pesca Daltura Catania came in second with 400 points. The Kuwaiti team Reel Addict secured third place with 328 points.
In his statement to “Okaz,” the CEO of the company developing the Jebel Sifah destination and Hawana Salalah, Wael Al-Lawati, said: “The idea of the championship came from the visitors' enthusiasm for practicing fishing in Jebel Sifah as a hobby, due to the abundance of fish in this area, and from here we started organizing a global championship that launched for the first time last year and achieved notable success.”
He added: “The current edition witnessed significant development, both in terms of the number of participating teams (22 teams compared to 12 in the previous edition) and through Saudi attendance and women's participation.”
He pointed out that the Jebel Sifah destination will not be limited to the fishing championship, but will also host a golf championship, in addition to organizing the Sifah Marathon next December, which will be open to all ages and levels.
