توفي مشجع لمنتخب بوركينا فاسو خلال مواجهة مصر، أمس الأول (الثلاثاء)، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثامنة من التصفيات الأفريقية المؤهلة إلى كأس العالم 2026.
ووفقاً لإذاعة «Ouaga FM» البوركينابية، فقد فارق الحياة مشجع يدعى موموني تراوري بعد تعرضه لوعكة صحية مفاجئة أثناء حضوره المباراة لتشجيع منتخب بلاده.
وأضافت الإذاعة أن المحاولات الطبية لإنقاذ المشجع باءت بالفشل، وتم تشييع جنازته صباح أمس (الأربعاء).
وانتهى اللقاء بالتعادل ليظل المنتخب المصري في صدارة المجموعة الأولى برصيد 20 نقطة، بفارق خمس نقاط عن منتخب بوركينا فاسو الذي يحتل المركز الثاني.
وبذلك، أصبح المنتخب المصري بحاجة إلى نقطتين فقط من أصل ست نقاط لتأكيد تأهله إلى كأس العالم 2026.
ويتأهل متصدر كل مجموعة مباشرة إلى البطولة التي ستُقام في الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك، بينما سيتعين على أفضل أربعة منتخبات من أصحاب المركز الثاني خوض ملحق أفريقي للحصول على فرصة للمشاركة في الملحق الدولي.
A fan of the Burkina Faso national team passed away during the match against Egypt, the day before yesterday (Tuesday), as part of the eighth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
According to the Burkina Faso radio station "Ouaga FM," a fan named Momoni Traoré died after suffering a sudden health crisis while attending the match to support his national team.
The radio added that medical attempts to save the fan were unsuccessful, and his funeral was held yesterday morning (Wednesday).
The match ended in a draw, keeping the Egyptian team at the top of Group A with 20 points, five points ahead of the Burkina Faso team, which is in second place.
Thus, the Egyptian team now needs only two points out of six to confirm their qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
The top team from each group qualifies directly for the tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, while the best four second-placed teams will have to play in an African playoff for a chance to participate in the international playoff.
