أعلن جهاز الأمن الفيدرالي الروسي، اليوم (الخميس)، إحباط مخطط أوكراني لاستهداف السفير البريطاني لدى موسكو، نايجل كيسي، مؤكداً توقيف مواطن روسي يعمل حارس أمن في السفارة البريطانية.
ووجه جهاز الأمن الفيدرالي الروسي اتهامات «بالتجسس» للمواطن الروسي بالعمل لحساب جهاز الأمن الأوكراني، وبحسب وكالة «سبوتنيك»، فإن جهاز الأمن الأوكراني جنّد الحارس لجمع معلومات استخباراتية تمهيداً لشن هجوم يستهدف السفير البريطاني ودبلوماسيين في موسكو.
وذكر الجهاز أن الهدف من العملية كان اتهام الجانب الروسي باستهداف السفير والدبلوماسيين من أجل إشراك بريطانيا في نزاع مسلح مباشر مع روسيا، مبيناً أن المخطط كان يهدف أيضاً إلى ضمان إمدادات إضافية من الأسلحة والمعدات العسكرية من لندن إلى أوكرانيا، فضلاً عن زيادة ضغط العقوبات على روسيا. ولم يذكر الجهاز اسم المواطن الروسي أو موعد تنفيذ الهجوم أو الأدلة التي يستند إليها في اتهاماته، مكتفياً بالقول إنه مواطن روسي ولد في عام 1981.
في المقابل، أعلنت السلطات الأوكرانية اليوم، مقتل شخص وإصابة 9 آخرين في هجوم روسي على منطقتي كييف وسومي بأوكرانيا، مبينة أن القوات الروسية شنت عدة غارات بطائرات مسيرة على كييف، مما أدى إلى إصابة 8 أشخاص إضافة إلى تضرر أكثر من 30 منشأة حيوية. وفي سومي، أسفر هجوم بطائرة مسيرة على بلدة «شوستكا» عن مقتل شخص وإصابة آخر.
The Russian Federal Security Service announced today (Thursday) that it had thwarted a Ukrainian plot to target the British ambassador to Moscow, Nigel Casey, confirming the arrest of a Russian citizen who works as a security guard at the British embassy.
The Russian Federal Security Service charged the Russian citizen with "espionage" for working on behalf of the Ukrainian security service. According to the Sputnik news agency, the Ukrainian security service recruited the guard to gather intelligence in preparation for an attack targeting the British ambassador and diplomats in Moscow.
The agency stated that the aim of the operation was to accuse the Russian side of targeting the ambassador and diplomats in order to involve Britain in a direct armed conflict with Russia, noting that the plot also aimed to ensure additional supplies of weapons and military equipment from London to Ukraine, as well as to increase pressure from sanctions on Russia. The agency did not disclose the name of the Russian citizen, the date of the planned attack, or the evidence it relies on for its accusations, stating only that he is a Russian citizen born in 1981.
In contrast, Ukrainian authorities announced today that one person was killed and nine others injured in a Russian attack on the Kyiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine, indicating that Russian forces launched several drone strikes on Kyiv, resulting in the injury of eight people and damage to more than 30 vital facilities. In Sumy, a drone attack on the town of "Shostka" resulted in one death and another injury.
