أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن ترحيب المملكة العربية السعودية باعتماد مجلس محافظي الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية القرار المتعلق بالجمهورية العربية السورية، وما ترتب عليه من إنهاء نظر المجلس في بند تنفيذ اتفاق الضمانات في الجمهورية العربية السورية، في ضوء التطورات الإيجابية التي شهدها الملف، وما أبدته الجمهورية العربية السورية من تعاون مع الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية.
وقالت الوزارة في بيان: «المملكة تعبر عن تقديرها لكافة الدول الأعضاء في مجلس محافظي الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية لخروجهم بتوافق الآراء الكامل تجاه القرار الذي قدمته دول أعضاء مجلس المحافظين كل من المملكة العربية السعودية رئيس المجموعة العربية في فيينا، والمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، وجمهورية مصر العربية، والمملكة المغربية، بما يعكس دعم التطورات الإيجابية التي شهدها الملف السوري». وأضافت: «المملكة تؤكد مجدداً دعمها للجمهورية العربية السورية الشقيقة، ولكافة الجهود والخطوات الرامية إلى تعزيز أمنها واستقرارها وسيادتها، ودعم مؤسساتها الوطنية، بما يسهم في تحقيق تطلعات الشعب السوري الشقيق نحو مستقبل يسوده الأمن والاستقرار والازدهار».
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome for the adoption by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency of the decision regarding the Syrian Arab Republic, which resulted in the termination of the Board's consideration of the item on the implementation of the safeguards agreement in the Syrian Arab Republic, in light of the positive developments witnessed in the file, and the cooperation demonstrated by the Syrian Arab Republic with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The ministry stated in a statement: “The Kingdom expresses its appreciation to all member states of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency for their unanimous agreement on the decision presented by member states of the Board of Governors, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the President of the Arab Group in Vienna, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Kingdom of Morocco, reflecting support for the positive developments witnessed in the Syrian file.” It added: “The Kingdom reaffirms its support for the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, and for all efforts and steps aimed at enhancing its security, stability, and sovereignty, and supporting its national institutions, contributing to the aspirations of the Syrian people for a future characterized by security, stability, and prosperity.”
