أكد المتحدث الرسمي باسم قوات التحالف «تحالف دعم الشرعية في اليمن» اللواء الركن تركي المالكي، أن استمرار مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية في اعتداءاتها الآثمة على المقدرات الوطنية والبنى التحتية في المملكة، يكشف نهجها المتطرف في التصعيد واستهداف المدنيين.
وأوضح المالكي أن المليشيا الحوثية نفذت، اليوم (الأربعاء)، اعتداءات باتجاه مدن خميس مشيط وأبها وجازان، مستخدمة عدداً من الصواريخ الباليستية والطائرات المسيّرة.
نهج إرهابي يستهدف المدنيين
وشدد المتحدث باسم قوات التحالف على أن استمرار هذه الاعتداءات يعكس النهج الإرهابي والفكر المتطرف للمليشيا الحوثية، وإصرارها على التصعيد واستهداف المدنيين بالمملكة، في امتداد لسلوكها العدائي وتهديدها للأمن والاستقرار.
حماية السيادة والمقدرات
وأكد اللواء المالكي أن قيادة القوات المشتركة للتحالف ستتعامل مع هذه الاعتداءات بمسؤولية لحماية سيادة المملكة ومقدراتها الوطنية، وحماية المدنيين والأعيان المدنية من الاعتداءات الآثمة.
حق الدفاع عن النفس
وأشار إلى أن إجراءات التحالف ستأتي بما يتوافق مع مبدأ الدفاع عن النفس بموجب القانون الدولي والمادة (51) من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، وبما ينسجم مع القانون الدولي الإنساني وقواعده العرفية.
The official spokesperson for the coalition forces, "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen," Major General Turki Al-Maliki, confirmed that the continued attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia on national resources and infrastructure in the Kingdom reveal its extremist approach to escalation and targeting civilians.
Al-Maliki explained that the Houthi militia carried out attacks today (Wednesday) towards the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Jazan, using a number of ballistic missiles and drones.
Extremist Approach Targeting Civilians
The coalition forces' spokesperson emphasized that the continuation of these attacks reflects the terrorist approach and extremist ideology of the Houthi militia, and its insistence on escalation and targeting civilians in the Kingdom, extending its hostile behavior and threatening security and stability.
Protecting Sovereignty and Resources
Major General Al-Maliki affirmed that the leadership of the coalition's joint forces will responsibly address these attacks to protect the sovereignty of the Kingdom and its national resources, as well as to safeguard civilians and civilian objects from these wrongful assaults.
Right to Self-Defense
He pointed out that the coalition's actions will align with the principle of self-defense under international law and Article (51) of the United Nations Charter, and will be consistent with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
