أكد الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي والرئيس القبرصي نيكوس كريستودوليدس ضرورة تسوية القضية الفلسطينية على أساس حل الدولتين، ووفقًا لقرارات مجلس الأمن، مع رفض تهجير الفلسطينيين.
وشدد السيسي، خلال استقباله نظيره القبرصي (الثلاثاء)، على موقف مصر الثابت بأن إقامة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة على حدود الرابع من يونيو 1967، وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، هي السبيل الوحيد لضمان السلام الدائم والاستقرار في المنطقة.
وبحسب بيان رسمي صادر عن الرئاسة المصرية، تناولت المحادثات تطورات القضايا الإقليمية والدولية، حيث شدد الرئيس المصري على أهمية خفض التوتر في المنطقة واستعادة السلم والاستقرار الإقليمي، منوهًا بالجهود التي تبذلها مصر في هذا الإطار.
ومن جانبه، أعرب الرئيس القبرصي عن تقدير بلاده للدور المصري الفاعل في دعم الاستقرار الإقليمي، مثمنًا كذلك الجهود المصرية في مواجهة الهجرة غير الشرعية، ومؤكدًا تطلعه إلى مواصلة التنسيق والتشاور مع مصر لمواجهة التحديات المشتركة.
وقال المتحدث باسم الرئاسة المصرية، السفير محمد الشناوي، إن السيسي رحب بزيارة الرئيس القبرصي إلى مصر، مشيدًا بعمق الروابط التاريخية التي تجمع بين البلدين، ومؤكدًا أهمية الارتقاء بالتعاون البنّاء القائم بينهما، لا سيما في المجالات التجارية والاستثمارية وقطاعات الطاقة والسياحة والنقل.
كما شدد السيسي على محورية التعاون الثلاثي بين مصر وقبرص واليونان في إطار آلية التعاون المشتركة، مشيرًا إلى ضرورة مواصلة تطوير هذا التعاون في مختلف القطاعات محل الاهتمام.
وأوضح المتحدث أن الرئيس القبرصي أعرب عن تقديره للعلاقات الوثيقة بين البلدين، مثمنًا ما تشهده من تطور ملحوظ خلال الفترة الأخيرة، خصوصا عقب ترفيعها إلى مستوى الشراكة الإستراتيجية في أبريل 2026، وبالأخص التعاون المتنامي في مجال الغاز الطبيعي.
كما أكد الرئيس القبرصي حرص بلاده على تعزيز الشراكة مع مصر، بما يحقق المصالح المشتركة للشعبين الصديقين.
The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides emphasized the necessity of resolving the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and in accordance with Security Council resolutions, while rejecting the displacement of Palestinians.
El-Sisi stressed, during his meeting with his Cypriot counterpart (on Tuesday), Egypt's firm position that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only way to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
According to an official statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, the discussions addressed developments in regional and international issues, where the Egyptian president emphasized the importance of reducing tensions in the region and restoring peace and regional stability, noting the efforts made by Egypt in this regard.
For his part, the Cypriot president expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's active role in supporting regional stability, also valuing Egypt's efforts in combating illegal immigration, and affirming his eagerness to continue coordination and consultation with Egypt to face common challenges.
The spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that El-Sisi welcomed the Cypriot president's visit to Egypt, praising the deep historical ties that bind the two countries, and emphasizing the importance of enhancing the constructive cooperation existing between them, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, energy, tourism, and transport.
El-Sisi also emphasized the centrality of tripartite cooperation between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece within the framework of the joint cooperation mechanism, pointing out the necessity of continuing to develop this cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest.
The spokesperson clarified that the Cypriot president expressed his appreciation for the close relations between the two countries, valuing the noticeable development they have witnessed recently, especially after being elevated to the level of strategic partnership in April 2026, particularly the growing cooperation in the field of natural gas.
The Cypriot president also confirmed his country's keenness to enhance the partnership with Egypt, in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly peoples.
