أعلن المتحدث باسم الكرملين دميتري بيسكوف اليوم (الأحد) رفض الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين عقد قمة ثلاثية مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب والرئيس الأوكراني فلاديمير زيلينسكي إلا في حالة إضفاء الطابع الرسمي على الاتفاقات، مؤكداً أنها عملية بالغة التعقيد، وليست صفقة بسيطة.
وقال بيسكوف: «لقد طُرحت فكرة عقد قمة بين بوتين وترمب وزيلينسكي منذ فترة طويلة، وأنتم تعلمون جيداً موقف رئيس دولتنا، مثل هذا اللقاء لا يمكن عقده إلا لإضفاء الطابع الرسمي على الاتفاقات»، مضيفاً: «الاتفاقات ليست صفقة بسيطة، إنها عملية تسوية معقدة للغاية تتضمن عدداً هائلاً من التفاصيل».
في المقابل، قال الرئيس الأوكراني فلاديمير زيلينسكي: «نحن نستعد لاتصال جديد مع مبعوثي رئيس الولايات المتحدة ونفعل كل شيء لضمان ألا تظل الحرب الخيار الوحيد لما سيحدث بعد ذلك». وأضاف: «من المهم أن أمريكا تشاركنا العديد من آرائنا حول الوضع سواء على الجبهة أو في ما يتعلق بالضربات». وشدد على ضرورة أن تكون جبهته العسكرية نشطة قائلاً: «يجب أن نكون نشيطين، وهذا بالضبط كيف نعمل بنشاط، دون أيام عطلة».

He emphasized the necessity for his military front to be active, stating, "We must be active, and this is exactly how we work actively, without days off."
