أعلنت هيئة النزاهة الاتحادية في العراق ضبط مبالغ مالية كبيرة تعادل 7 ملايين دولار وسبائك وكميات من الذهب في منازل تعود إلى وكيل وزير الكهرباء لشؤون النقل والتوزيع خالد غزاي عطية، تنفيذاً لأوامر قضائية صادرة عن قاضي تحقيق محكمة جنايات مكافحة الفساد المركزية القاضي ضياء جعفر.
وأفادت الهيئة في بيان، اليوم (الأحد)، بأن فريقاً من مديرية تحقيق بغداد نفذ عملية ضبط استناداً إلى مذكرة قضائية، بعد عمليات متابعة وتحرٍ وتقصٍ مكثفة، أسفرت عن العثور على أموال ومقتنيات ثمينة في عدد من المنازل العائدة للمتهم، الذي سبق أن نفذت ملاكات الهيئة أمر قبض بحقه على خلفية قضايا تتعلق بالفساد والكسب غير المشروع.
وأضافت أن المضبوطات بالعملة المحلية بلغت قيمتها نحو 904 آلاف دولار أمريكي (1.175 مليار دينار عراقي)، إضافة إلى 5.8 مليون دولار بالعملة الأمريكية، فضلاً عن سبع سبائك ذهبية ومصوغات ذهبية.
ووفق بيان الهيئة، فإنه تم تنظيم محضر ضبط أصولي بالمضبوطات وإحالتها مع ملف القضية إلى قاضي التحقيق المختص لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة وفقاً للقانون.
وتأتي العملية في إطار الإجراءات التي تتخذها هيئة النزاهة لملاحقة المتهمين بقضايا الفساد المالي والكشف عن الأموال والممتلكات التي يشتبه في الحصول عليها بطرق غير مشروعة.
وكان مجلس القضاء الأعلى في العراق كشف، الأحد، عن ضبط 20 مليون دولار واسترداد 60 كيلوغراماً من الذهب في قضية وكيل وزارة النفط لشؤون التصفية.
وأفصح قاضي تحقيق محكمة جنايات مكافحة الفساد المركزية أن عملية الضبط تمت بالتنسيق مع إقليم كردستان، وضبط خلالها مبلغ 20 مليون دولار و340 ألف دولار أمريكي و200 مليون دينار عراقي، فضلاً عن استرداد 60 كيلوغراماً من الذهب، وضبط 7 سيارات، وذلك في قضية وكيل وزارة النفط لشؤون التصفية المتهم الموقوف عدنان الجميلي والأطراف المتورطة معه.
وأضاف القاضي المختص أن إجراءات المتابعة والتحري لضبط المتحصلات المالية الناتجة عن الهدر الحاصل في المشاريع المنفذة من قبل المتهم والأطراف المتورطة في القضية، أسفرت عن ضبط المبالغ المالية والمصوغات الذهبية والعجلات المذكورة، وفق ما نقلته وكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع).
The Federal Integrity Commission in Iraq announced the seizure of large sums of money equivalent to 7 million dollars, along with gold bars and quantities of gold in homes belonging to Khaled Ghazi Atiyah, the Deputy Minister of Electricity for Transport and Distribution, in implementation of judicial orders issued by the investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court, Judge Diaa Jafar.
The commission stated in a statement today (Sunday) that a team from the Baghdad Investigation Directorate carried out the seizure operation based on a judicial memorandum, following extensive monitoring and investigation operations that resulted in the discovery of money and valuable possessions in several homes belonging to the accused, who had previously been subject to an arrest warrant issued by the commission's teams due to corruption and illicit gain cases.
It added that the seized amounts in local currency were valued at approximately 904 thousand US dollars (1.175 billion Iraqi dinars), in addition to 5.8 million dollars in US currency, as well as seven gold bars and gold jewelry.
According to the commission's statement, a formal seizure report was prepared for the confiscated items and referred along with the case file to the competent investigating judge to take the necessary legal actions in accordance with the law.
This operation comes as part of the measures taken by the Integrity Commission to pursue those accused of financial corruption and to uncover funds and properties suspected of being obtained through illegal means.
On Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq revealed the seizure of 20 million dollars and the recovery of 60 kilograms of gold in the case of the Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs.
The investigating judge of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court disclosed that the seizure operation was carried out in coordination with the Kurdistan Region, during which 20 million dollars, 340 thousand US dollars, and 200 million Iraqi dinars were seized, in addition to the recovery of 60 kilograms of gold and the seizure of 7 vehicles, in the case of the detained Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs, Adnan Al-Jumaili, and the parties involved with him.
The specialized judge added that the follow-up and investigation procedures to seize the financial proceeds resulting from the waste occurring in the projects implemented by the accused and the parties involved in the case led to the seizure of the mentioned financial amounts, gold jewelry, and vehicles, according to what was reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
