أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الأحد) أن المفاوضات مع إيران مستمرة وتمضي مثل لعبة الشطرنج، موضحاً أن إدارته تتعامل معها بهدوء ومن دون تصعيد.
وقال ترمب لـ«أكسيوس»: «لا نتفاوض إلا بشكل جزئي، ونحن نراقب إيران فقط مع التضخم الهائل الذي تعاني منه وحقيقة أنه لا أموال لديها»، مبيناً أن إيران في وضع اقتصادي سيئ للغاية ولا تملك المال لدفع رواتب جنودها.
وأشار إلى أن الحصار البحري فاقم الأزمة الاقتصادية للنظام الإيراني، مبدياً استعداده لزيادة الضغط الاقتصادي على إيران بدلاً من شن هجوم جديد.
وكان مسؤولون أمريكيون أكدوا في وقت سابق اليوم أن الرئيس ترمب قد يميل إلى تمديد وقف إطلاق النار الحالي مع طهران إلى أجل غير مسمى إذا نجحت واشنطن في إبقاء البرنامج النووي الإيراني تحت السيطرة وعادت حركة الملاحة إلى طبيعتها في مضيق هرمز.
ونقلت صحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال» عن مسؤولين أمريكيين أنه في حال أعادت طهران فتح المضيق بالكامل من المتوقع أن تدرس الإدارة الأمريكية رفع الحصار المفروض على الموانئ الإيرانية.
في المقابل، نقل التلفزيون الإيراني عن الرئيس مسعود بزشكيان قوله: «لدينا علاقات جيدة مع دول في المنطقة، مثل باكستان وأفغانستان وتركمانستان وأذربيجان والعراق، رغم تعقيدات العمل الدبلوماسي في مرحلة ما بعد الحرب».
وكان موقع المرشد الإيراني قال إن بزشكيان التقى اليوم المرشد مجتبى خامنئي، وناقش معه مستجدات القضايا العسكرية والاقتصادية في البلاد.

Trump told Axios: "We are only negotiating partially, and we are just monitoring Iran with the enormous inflation it is suffering from and the fact that it has no money," indicating that Iran is in a very bad economic situation and does not have the funds to pay its soldiers.
He pointed out that the maritime blockade has exacerbated the Iranian regime's economic crisis, expressing his willingness to increase economic pressure on Iran instead of launching a new attack.
Earlier today, U.S. officials confirmed that President Trump may lean towards extending the current ceasefire with Tehran indefinitely if Washington succeeds in keeping Iran's nuclear program under control and if shipping traffic returns to normal in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. officials stated that if Tehran fully reopens the strait, the U.S. administration is expected to consider lifting the blockade on Iranian ports.
In contrast, Iranian television quoted President Masoud Bezhakian as saying: "We have good relations with countries in the region, such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Iraq, despite the complexities of diplomatic work in the post-war phase."
The Iranian leader's website stated that Bezhakian met today with leader Mojtaba Khamenei and discussed the latest developments in military and economic issues in the country.
