صوّت مجلس الأمن الدولي، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، لصالح قرار بتمديد تقديم تقارير شهرية بشأن هجمات مليشيا الحوثي البحرية.
وقال مندوب البحرين لدى الأمم المتحدة السفير جمال فارس الرويعي في كلمة بالاجتماع الطارئ لمجلس الأمن الدولي حول اليمن: «ندعم كل ما تتخذه السعودية من إجراءات لحماية أمنها»، معرباً عن إدانته للاعتداءات الحوثية على المنطقة الجنوبية بالسعودية.
وقال المندوب الأمريكي: «الطائرة الإيرانية استخدمت لنقل أسلحة للحوثيين تحت غطاء آخر»، موضحاً أن الحوثيين يهددون المدنيين.
وأشار إلى أن الحوثيين لم يمتثلوا لقرارات مجلس الأمن، مبيناً أن إيران والحوثيون يهاجمون السفن ويهددون الاستقرار.
وأكد المبعوث الأمريكي ضرورة اتخاذ تدابير لحظر تدفق الأسلحة للحوثيين.
وطالب المندوب الأمريكي بامتثال إيران لقرارات مجلس الأمن بشأن الحوثيين.
ونوّه مندوب فرنسا بمجلس الأمن: «على الحوثيين وضع حد لتهديداتهم للملاحة».
وعلى هامش الاجتماع الطارئ في مجلس الأمن، تلاسن كل من المندوب الأمريكي لدى مجلس الأمن والمندوب الصيني الذي قال: «أمريكا هي المسؤولة عن التوترات بالمنطقة وأنها تؤثر على الوضع في البحر الأحمر».
ورد المندوب الأمريكي عليه بالقول: «70% من الصادرات ذات الاستخدام المزدوج لإيران والحوثيين مصدرها الصين»، مضيفاً: «نمارس الدبلوماسية البناءة بشأن الشرق الأوسط».
ورد المندوب الصيني برفضه اتهامات أمريكا حول مواقف بلاده في الشرق الأوسط.
وطلبت الحكومة اليمنية من مجلس الأمن الدولي عقد اجتماع بتأييد من عدد من الدول العربية والغربية لمناقشة انتهاكات إيران للسيادة اليمنية وتهريب الأسلحة والخبراء إلى صنعاء.
وأكدت الحكومة اليمنية في رسالة إلى مجلس الأمن الدولي أن ما أقدمت عليه إيران بتسيير رحلة مباشرة إلى مطار صنعاء الخاضع بالقوة لسيطرة المليشيا الحوثية الإرهابية، لا يمكن النظر إليه باعتباره إجراءً إنسانياً كما تروج له المليشيا، بل يمثل انتهاكاً جسيماً لسيادة اليمن، وتحدياً مباشراً لقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، ولا سيّما التدابير المرتبطة بنظام الجزاءات المفروض على المليشيات.
وأوضح مندوب اليمن السفير عبدالله السعدي لمجلس الأمن أن هذه الرحلة لا يمكن النظر إليها باعتبارها رحلة مدنية اعتيادية؛ لأنها تمت دون إذن أو تنسيق مع السلطات المختصة في اليمن، وبما يتعارض مع القواعد المنظمة لتشغيل الرحلات الجوية الدولية إلى إقليم دولة ذات سيادة.
The UN Security Council voted today (Tuesday) in favor of a resolution to extend the submission of monthly reports regarding the maritime attacks by the Houthi militia.
The Bahraini ambassador to the United Nations, Jamal Faris Al-Ruwaihi, stated in a speech at the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Yemen: "We support all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect its security," expressing his condemnation of the Houthi attacks on southern Saudi Arabia.
The American representative said: "The Iranian plane was used to transport weapons to the Houthis under another cover," clarifying that the Houthis threaten civilians.
He pointed out that the Houthis have not complied with Security Council resolutions, indicating that Iran and the Houthis are attacking ships and threatening stability.
The American envoy emphasized the necessity of taking measures to prohibit the flow of weapons to the Houthis.
The American representative called for Iran to comply with Security Council resolutions regarding the Houthis.
The French representative at the Security Council noted: "The Houthis must put an end to their threats to navigation."
On the sidelines of the emergency meeting at the Security Council, there was a heated exchange between the American representative and the Chinese representative, who stated: "America is responsible for the tensions in the region and it affects the situation in the Red Sea."
The American representative responded by saying: "70% of dual-use exports to Iran and the Houthis come from China," adding: "We are engaging in constructive diplomacy regarding the Middle East."
The Chinese representative rejected America's accusations regarding his country's positions in the Middle East.
The Yemeni government requested the UN Security Council to hold a meeting, supported by several Arab and Western countries, to discuss Iran's violations of Yemeni sovereignty and the smuggling of weapons and experts to Sana'a.
The Yemeni government confirmed in a letter to the UN Security Council that Iran's operation of a direct flight to Sana'a Airport, which is forcibly controlled by the terrorist Houthi militia, cannot be viewed as a humanitarian action as promoted by the militia, but rather represents a grave violation of Yemen's sovereignty and a direct challenge to relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly the measures related to the sanctions regime imposed on the militias.
The Yemeni representative, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, explained to the Security Council that this flight cannot be considered a regular civilian flight; it was conducted without permission or coordination with the relevant authorities in Yemen, contradicting the regulations governing the operation of international flights to the territory of a sovereign state.
