نوه الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون بتأكيد دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي على أهمية الحفاظ على أمن لبنان واستقراره ووحدة أراضيه في مواجهة التحديات الراهنة.
وأفاد بيان للرئاسة عبر منصة «إكس»، اليوم الجمعة، بأن عون شدد على بالغ الامتنان لاستعداد دول الخليج لمواصلة دعم لبنان بما يساهم في تخفيف الأعباء الاقتصادية وتحسين الظروف المعيشية للشعب.
وأكد أن لبنان سيبقى حريصاً على تدعيم علاقاته مع جميع الدول العربية، خصوصا دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي.
ورحَّب الرئيس اللبناني بالإعلان الذي صدر عن الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون ورئيسة الوزراء الإيطالية جورجيا ميلوني بشأن السعي إلى تشكيل تحالف دولي حول آلية ما بعد انتهاء مهمة قوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان (اليونيفيل).
وذكرت الرئاسة اللبنانية في بيان أن عون يرى في تلك المبادرة «تعبيراً صادقاً عن الالتزام الدولي بدعم سيادة لبنان واستقراره، وتثميناً حقيقياً للدور الذي تضطلع به القوات المسلحة اللبنانية في حفظ الأمن وبسط سلطة الدولة على كامل أراضيها، لا سيما في المناطق الحدودية الجنوبية».
وأعرب عون عن تقديره للتأكيد الإيطالي الفرنسي المشترك على ضرورة عدم ترك أي فراغ خطير في مرحلة ما بعد اليونيفيل، إذ يتطابق هذا التوجه مع الرؤية اللبنانية الثابتة القائلة بأن الجيش اللبناني هو الضمانة الوحيدة والحقيقية لأمن الجنوب وصون سيادته.
وأكد أن لبنان يتطلع إلى أي صيغة دولية تُعزز قدرات قواته المسلحة وتصون وحدة أراضيه، وتحول دون تحوّل أرضه إلى ساحة للتصعيد أو التجاذبات الإقليمية، مجدداً انفتاح لبنان على التنسيق مع شركائه الدوليين بما يخدم مصلحة الشعب اللبناني ويُرسّخ الاستقرار في المنطقة.
وكانت رئيسة الوزراء الإيطالية جورجا ميلوني، كشفت أن إيطاليا وفرنسا اتفقتا على تشكيل تحالف لدعم لبنان بعد انتهاء مهمة (يونيفيل) المقررة بنهاية العام الحالي.
وأضافت عقب محادثات مع ماكرون في منتجع فرنسي أن الجانبين ناقشا إمكانية عقد مؤتمر دولي حول هذه القضية.
The Lebanese President Joseph Aoun noted the Gulf Cooperation Council's emphasis on the importance of maintaining Lebanon's security, stability, and territorial integrity in the face of current challenges.
A statement from the presidency via the "X" platform today, Friday, indicated that Aoun expressed deep gratitude for the Gulf countries' readiness to continue supporting Lebanon in ways that contribute to alleviating economic burdens and improving the living conditions of the people.
He affirmed that Lebanon will remain keen on strengthening its relations with all Arab countries, especially the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The Lebanese President welcomed the announcement made by French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni regarding the efforts to form an international coalition concerning the mechanism after the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission ends.
The Lebanese presidency stated that Aoun sees this initiative as "a sincere expression of international commitment to support Lebanon's sovereignty and stability, and a genuine appreciation of the role played by the Lebanese Armed Forces in maintaining security and asserting state authority over its entire territory, especially in the southern border areas."
Aoun expressed his appreciation for the joint Italian-French affirmation of the necessity of not leaving any dangerous vacuum in the post-UNIFIL phase, as this approach aligns with the steadfast Lebanese vision that the Lebanese Army is the only and true guarantee for the security of the south and the preservation of its sovereignty.
He emphasized that Lebanon looks forward to any international formula that enhances the capabilities of its armed forces, preserves its territorial integrity, and prevents its land from becoming a battleground for escalation or regional tensions, reiterating Lebanon's openness to coordinate with its international partners in a manner that serves the interests of the Lebanese people and reinforces stability in the region.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni revealed that Italy and France have agreed to form a coalition to support Lebanon after the UNIFIL mission is scheduled to end later this year.
She added, following talks with Macron at a French resort, that the two sides discussed the possibility of holding an international conference on this issue.
