أكّد الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي اليوم (الإثنين) أن الاجتماع الوزاري الخليجي التنسيقي بحث آخر التطورات والمستجدات والجهود الدولية والإقليمية للتهدئة وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة، ومخرجات الاجتماع الوزاري الـ167.
وجاء ذلك بمناسبة انعقاد الاجتماع الوزاري التنسيقي لوزراء الخارجية بدول المجلس، على هامش اجتماع جامعة الدول العربية على المستوى الوزاري في دورته العادية المستأنفة (165) اليوم في العاصمة الأردنية عمان.
وقال البديوي: «تم خلال الاجتماع الترحيب بالتوقيع على مذكرة التفاهم بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، والتأكيد على دعم جهود الوساطة والتهدئة، وأن يسهم هذا التوقيع في الوصول إلى اتفاق نهائي وشامل يعزز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة والعالم».
وأشار الأمين العام إلى أنه تم كذلك بحث مخرجات وتوصيات الاجتماع الوزاري الـ167 الذي عُقد في بداية يونيو، التي تأتي في إطار جهود التكامل بين دول مجلس التعاون، ومكتسبات المسيرة للمجلس.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, confirmed today (Monday) that the Gulf Coordinating Ministerial Meeting discussed the latest developments, updates, and international and regional efforts for calming tensions and enhancing security and stability in the region, as well as the outcomes of the 167th ministerial meeting.
This came on the occasion of the convening of the coordinating ministerial meeting of the foreign ministers of the Council's member states, on the sidelines of the Arab League ministerial meeting in its resumed ordinary session (165) today in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
Al-Budaiwi stated: "During the meeting, the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran was welcomed, and there was an emphasis on supporting mediation and de-escalation efforts, with the hope that this signing will contribute to reaching a final and comprehensive agreement that enhances security and stability in the region and the world."
The Secretary-General also pointed out that the outcomes and recommendations of the 167th ministerial meeting, which was held at the beginning of June, were discussed, as part of the efforts for integration among the Gulf Cooperation Council member states and the achievements of the Council's journey.
