فيما نفى التقارير الإيرانية عن موافقة واشنطن على رفع العقوبات عن إيران، لوَّح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الإثنين) بالعملية العسكرية إذا لم تقدم طهران تنازلات.
وقال ترمب لصحيفة «نيويورك بوست»: «لست منفتحاً على تقديم أي تنازلات لإيران»، مضيفاً: «إيران تدرك ما سيحدث قريباً».
بدورها، نقلت قناة «سي إن بي سي» عن مسؤول أمريكي قوله إن تقارير وسائل الإعلام الإيرانية عن موافقة واشنطن على رفع العقوبات النفطية عن طهران «كاذبة».
وكانت وكالة أنباء تسنيم الإيرانية شبه الرسمية نقلت عن مصدر مقرب من فريق التفاوض الإيراني في وقت سابق اليوم أن الولايات المتحدة وافقت على رفع العقوبات المفروضة على صادرات طهران النفطية خلال فترة المفاوضات.
وغادر وزير الداخلية الباكستاني محسن نقوي العاصمة الإيرانية طهران وسط تقارير أنه سيقدم إحاطة كاملة للحكومة غداً.
وكان نقوي قد التقى في وقت سابق اليوم وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي، وأجرى الجانبان محادثات في طهران تناولت القضايا المشتركة، وسط التحركات الدبلوماسية المستمرة التي تقودها باكستان في المنطقة.
وذكرت مصادر دبلوماسية باكستانية أن الرد الإيراني، الذي تلقته إسلام آباد على المقترحات الأمريكية لإنهاء الحرب، يقود مجدداً إلى طريق مسدود، موضحة أن باكستان تخشى من أن رد طهران لن يساعد في حلحلة الوضع.
وأفادت المصادر بأن هذا ما يذهب إليه تقييم الجانب الأمريكي أيضاً إلى حد كبير، وسط مخاوف بين الأوساط الباكستانية المنخرطة في المحادثات من استئناف الحرب الأمريكية الإسرائيلية ضد إيران.
في غضون ذلك، ناقش رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف مع نظيره القطري الشيخ محمد بن عبد الرحمن آخر تطورات الأوضاع في المنطقة، وجهود الوساطة الباكستانية.
وأفادت وزارة الخارجية القطرية بأن الجانبين ناقشا جهود الوساطة الباكستانية الهادفة لخفض التصعيد بما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة، مبينة أن قطر أكدت دعمها الكامل لجهود الوساطة الباكستانية الرامية إلى إنهاء الأزمة بالطرق السلمية.
وشددت قطر على ضرورة تجاوب جميع الأطراف مع هذه الجهود بما يسهم في تهيئة الظروف الملائمة للتقدم في المفاوضات وصولاً لاتفاق شامل يحقق السلام المستدام في المنطقة.
While denying Iranian reports about Washington's approval to lift sanctions on Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump today (Monday) threatened military action if Tehran does not make concessions.
Trump told the New York Post: “I am not open to making any concessions to Iran,” adding, “Iran knows what will happen soon.”
For its part, CNBC reported that an American official stated that Iranian media reports about Washington's approval to lift oil sanctions on Tehran are “false.”
Earlier today, the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that a source close to the Iranian negotiating team said that the United States had agreed to lift the sanctions imposed on Tehran's oil exports during the negotiations.
The Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi left the Iranian capital Tehran amid reports that he will provide a full briefing to the government tomorrow.
Naqvi had met earlier today with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and the two sides held talks in Tehran addressing common issues, amid ongoing diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan in the region.
Pakistani diplomatic sources indicated that the Iranian response received by Islamabad regarding the U.S. proposals to end the war has once again led to a deadlock, explaining that Pakistan fears that Tehran's response will not help in resolving the situation.
The sources reported that this aligns largely with the American side's assessment, amid concerns among Pakistani circles involved in the talks about the resumption of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif discussed with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman the latest developments in the region and Pakistan's mediation efforts.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the two sides discussed Pakistan's mediation efforts aimed at de-escalation, which contribute to enhancing security and stability in the region, noting that Qatar reaffirmed its full support for Pakistan's mediation efforts aimed at resolving the crisis peacefully.
Qatar emphasized the necessity for all parties to respond to these efforts in a way that creates conducive conditions for progress in negotiations towards a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
