أسفرت غارات جوية أمريكية متجددة عن سقوط مزيد من المتشددين في شمال نيجيريا، بعد يوم من عملية مشتركة مع الدولة الواقعة في غرب أفريقيا، أودت بحياة قيادي بارز في تنظيم «داعش» الإرهابي، بحسب ما أوردت وكالة «بلومبيرغ».
وقالت قيادة الدفاع النيجيرية في بيان اليوم (الإثنين): «إن عدة غارات نُفذت وأسفرت عن القضاء على أكثر من 20 مقاتلاً من تنظيم داعش/ولاية غرب أفريقيا». وكانت القيادة الأمريكية في أفريقيا (أفريكوم) قد أعلنت العملية في منشور سابق على منصة «إكس».
وذكرت الوكالة أن الهجمات الأخيرة تعكس تزايد انخراط الولايات المتحدة في مكافحة الإرهاب داخل نيجيريا، أكبر دول أفريقيا من حيث عدد السكان. واتهمت إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مقاتلي تنظيم «داعش» باستهداف المسيحيين.
وأطلقت القوات الأمريكية والنيجيرية، السبت الماضي، عملية مشتركة أدت إلى اغتيال «أبو بلال المنوكي»، الذي وُصف بأنه الرجل الثاني في تنظيم «داعش» على مستوى العالم، فيما أكد ترمب في منشور على منصة «تروث سوشيال» أنه «أكثر الإرهابيين نشاطاً في العالم».
وفي ديسمبر 2025 نفذت الولايات المتحدة ضربة ضد أهداف لتنظيم «داعش» في نيجيريا بالتعاون مع حكومة الرئيس بولا تينوبو. وأرسلت واشنطن لاحقاً مدربين عسكريين متخصصين إلى نيجيريا مع تصاعد أعمال العنف.
وتضم نيجيريا نحو 230 مليون نسمة، ينقسمون تقريباً بالتساوي بين المسلمين والمسيحيين، وشهدت البلاد أعمال عنف عرقية ودينية مرتبطة بالتنافس على الموارد.
وتُعزى أعمال التمرد بدرجة كبيرة إلى جماعات متشددة، بينها «بوكو حرام»، وفصائل مرتبطة بتنظيم «داعش» في شمال البلاد.
Renewed American airstrikes have resulted in more militants being killed in northern Nigeria, following a joint operation with the West African nation that claimed the life of a prominent leader of the terrorist organization "ISIS," according to Bloomberg news agency.
The Nigerian defense command stated in a statement today (Monday): "Several airstrikes were carried out, resulting in the elimination of more than 20 fighters from ISIS/West Africa Province." The U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) had announced the operation in a previous post on the platform "X."
The agency noted that the recent attacks reflect an increasing U.S. involvement in combating terrorism within Nigeria, Africa's most populous country. The administration of President Donald Trump accused ISIS fighters of targeting Christians.
Last Saturday, American and Nigerian forces launched a joint operation that led to the assassination of "Abu Bilal al-Manuki," who was described as the second-in-command of ISIS globally, while Trump confirmed in a post on the "Truth Social" platform that he is "the most active terrorist in the world."
In December 2025, the United States carried out a strike against ISIS targets in Nigeria in cooperation with the government of President Bola Tinubu. Washington later sent specialized military trainers to Nigeria as violence escalated.
Nigeria has a population of about 230 million, nearly evenly divided between Muslims and Christians, and the country has witnessed ethnic and religious violence linked to competition for resources.
The insurgency is largely attributed to militant groups, including "Boko Haram," and factions affiliated with ISIS in the northern part of the country.
