حرب المسيّرات تشتعل.. روسيا تواجه أضخم هجوم أوكراني في ليلة واحدة

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced this morning (Sunday) the downing of 556 Ukrainian drones during the night, in one of the largest Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory since the beginning of the conflict.
The ministry stated in its announcement that the deployed air defense systems intercepted and destroyed these drones between 10 PM on Saturday and 7 AM on Sunday, over 14 Russian regions, in addition to the Crimean Peninsula and the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
The attack particularly focused on the vicinity of the capital Moscow, where Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported the downing of more than 120 drones in the area alone.
The attack resulted in casualties, with at least 3 to 4 people killed and dozens more injured, mostly in the Moscow region, due to falling debris or collisions.
This Ukrainian attack comes after a series of intensive Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities in the previous days, which involved the use of hundreds of drones and missiles.
Recent months have seen a noticeable escalation in the use of drones by both sides, with Ukraine developing its capabilities to reach distant targets deep inside Russian territory (over 500 km in some cases).
Russia relies on multiple layers of air defense (Patriot, S-400, Pantsir, and electronic systems) to counter such mass attacks, and Moscow often announces high numbers of interceptions, while Ukraine confirms the success of its strikes on military and oil infrastructure.
The figure of 556 is a record number announced for a single night, compared to previous attacks that typically ranged from dozens to a few hundred.
