يزور الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون مصر غداً (السبت) في زيارة رسمية قصيرة، يعقد خلالها مباحثات ثنائية مع الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي، ويشارك في افتتاح الحرم الجامعي الجديد لجامعة سنجور في مدينة برج العرب بالإسكندرية.
وتُعد هذه الزيارة تعزيزاً للعلاقات الإستراتيجية بين مصر وفرنسا، وتأكيداً على التعاون في مجال التعليم العالي والتنمية الأفريقية.
ومن المتوقع أن يركز اللقاء بين الرئيسين على تعزيز الشراكة الثنائية في مختلف المجالات، بالإضافة إلى مناقشة القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، خاصة تطورات الشرق الأوسط.
افتتاح جامعة سنجور
وسيفتتح الرئيسان الحرم الجامعي الجديد لجامعة «سنجور» الذي يمتد على مساحة 10 أفدنة، ويضم مباني أكاديمية، قاعات مؤتمرات، سكناً طلابياً، مكتبة، ومرافق رياضية متكاملة صالة رياضية، مسبحاً، ملاعب متعددة.
وتُعد جامعة سنجور مؤسسة فرانكوفونية دولية متخصصة في التنمية الأفريقية، تأسست عام 1990 بمبادرة من منظمة الفرنكوفونية، وتُمنح درجات الماجستير في مجالات التنمية (الصحة، البيئة، الإدارة، الثقافة، والتعليم).
ويُنظر إلى الحرم الجديد في برج العرب كهدية من الحكومة المصرية، ونقلة نوعية للجامعة لتعزيز دورها كمركز تميز أفريقي.
وكان الرئيس السيسي أشاد بهذا المشروع مؤخراً، معتبراً إياه تجسيداً للتعاون العميق بين مصر وشركائها الدوليين، ودعماً لجهود بناء القدرات في القارة الأفريقية.
وتحمل جامعة سنجور اسم الرئيس السنغالي السابق والشاعر ليوبولد سدار سنجور، وتهدف إلى تدريب الكوادر الأفريقية الناطقة بالفرنسية لدعم التنمية المستدامة في القارة، ويأتي افتتاح الحرم الجديد ضمن جهود مصر لتعزيز مكانتها كمركز تعليمي وثقافي إقليمي.
The French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Egypt tomorrow (Saturday) on a short official visit, during which he will hold bilateral talks with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and participate in the inauguration of the new campus of Senghor University in the city of Borg El Arab in Alexandria.
This visit is considered a reinforcement of the strategic relations between Egypt and France, and a confirmation of cooperation in the field of higher education and African development.
The meeting between the two presidents is expected to focus on enhancing the bilateral partnership in various fields, in addition to discussing regional and international issues of mutual interest, especially developments in the Middle East.
Inauguration of Senghor University
The two presidents will inaugurate the new campus of Senghor University, which spans an area of 10 acres and includes academic buildings, conference halls, student housing, a library, and comprehensive sports facilities including a gym, a swimming pool, and multi-purpose playgrounds.
Senghor University is an international Francophone institution specialized in African development, established in 1990 at the initiative of the Francophonie Organization, and it offers master's degrees in various fields of development (health, environment, management, culture, and education).
The new campus in Borg El Arab is seen as a gift from the Egyptian government and a qualitative leap for the university to enhance its role as a center of African excellence.
President El-Sisi recently praised this project, considering it a manifestation of the deep cooperation between Egypt and its international partners, and a support for capacity-building efforts on the African continent.
Senghor University is named after the former Senegalese president and poet Léopold Sédar Senghor, and aims to train French-speaking African cadres to support sustainable development on the continent. The inauguration of the new campus is part of Egypt's efforts to enhance its position as a regional educational and cultural center.
