وكشف مسؤول أمريكي أن الرئيس دونالد ترمب أبلغ مساعديه أن مدة الأعمال القتالية ستتراوح بين 4 و6 أسابيع.
ونقل المسؤول عن ترمب قوله إنه يرغب في تجنب حرب طويلة مع إيران، مؤكداً أنه يسعى لإيجاد مخرج عبر التفاوض، بحسب ما أوردت وكالة «رويترز». وأفاد المسؤول الأمريكي بأن ترمب شدد على أنه لا يخطط لإرسال قوات برية في الوقت الحالي لإيران، لكنه يبقي جميع الخيارات على الطاولة.
وأكد المسؤول أن الرئيس الأمريكي وفريقه متأهبون للتعامل مع إيران في مضيق هرمز، وقد يوجهون ضربات أقوى للإيرانيين إذا لم يقبلوا الواقع الحالي، كما أنهم واثقون من إعادة فتحه قريباً. وأضاف أنه لم يتضح بعد ما إذا كانت هناك حالياً احتمالات واقعية لإجراء مفاوضات مع إيران تفضي إلى نتائج إيجابية. ولفت إلى أن ترمب يواصل الحديث عن تقييمات تشير إلى النصر لكنه يوجه رسائله بشكل متزايد لطمأنة الأسواق المالية المتوترة.
وكان وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو قال أمس (الجمعة) إن الرئيس دونالد ترمب يمتلك جميع الخيارات للتعامل مع إيران، وأضاف للصحفيين عقب اجتماع لمجموعة السبع قرب باريس إن العملية العسكرية في إيران «ستنتهي خلال أسابيع وليس شهوراً». وأوضح روبيو أن بلاده تحقق تقدماً كبيراً عن الجدول الزمني المخطط له، وأن كل الأهداف ستتحقق قريباً.
