دوّى انفجار فجر الأربعاء قرب السفارة الأمريكية في بغداد، تزامن مع هجوم جديد بطائرة مسيّرة، بعد ساعات من هجوم سابق تسبب في اندلاع حريق، وفق مراسل فرانس برس ومصادر أمنية.
وأكدت المصادر أن المسيّرة أصابت السفارة أو سقطت قرب سياجها الأمني، في وقت شهدت فيه المنطقة الخضراء تصاعد دخان ونشوب حريق على أطراف السفارة.
وجاء الهجوم بعد سلسلة استهدافات سابقة خلال الأيام الماضية، وسط تحذيرات رسمية من التصدي لأي جهة تحاول العبث بأمن العاصمة.
وتعكس هذه الهجمات تصاعد التوتر في العراق بعد الهجوم الأمريكي والإسرائيلي على إيران في فبراير، حيث امتدت آثار النزاع إلى الأراضي العراقية.
An explosion echoed early Wednesday near the American embassy in Baghdad, coinciding with a new drone attack, just hours after a previous attack that caused a fire, according to a reporter from AFP and security sources.
The sources confirmed that the drone struck the embassy or fell near its security fence, while smoke was rising and a fire broke out at the edges of the embassy.
The attack came after a series of previous targeting incidents over the past few days, amid official warnings to confront any party attempting to tamper with the security of the capital.
These attacks reflect the rising tensions in Iraq following the American and Israeli attack on Iran in February, as the effects of the conflict have extended into Iraqi territory.
