فيما يجري التحضير لإطلاق الرحلات من جدة إلى سقطرى (الثلاثاء)، دُشن في محافظة تعز اليوم (الأحد) مطار المخا، بانطلاق أول رحلة للخطوط الجوية اليمنية، في إطار الجهود الحكومية، وبدعم من السعودية لإنهاء معاناة أبناء المحافظة المحاصرة والمحافظات الأخرى، خصوصاً بعد تدمير مطار صنعاء.
وأكد محافظ تعز نبيل شمسان أن العمل على إنشاء المطار استمر لأكثر من 6 سنوات، موضحاً أن ما كان يُنظر إليه في السابق كحلم أو ضرب من الخيال أصبح اليوم واقعاً ملموساً، وسيقدم المطار خدماته للمواطنين من أبناء محافظة تعز وباقي المحافظات.

وأشار إلى أن المطار يشهد تنظيماً عالياً وانسيابية في الإجراءات داخل صالاته، مثمناً الجهود الكبيرة التي بذلها مدير عام مطار المخا الدولي، وكافة الكوادر العاملة في المطار، إلى جانب السلطة المحلية بمدينة المخا، والعاملين في الجمارك والميناء.
وأشاد المحافظ بالتسهيلات التي قدمتها المملكة العربية السعودية لدعم تشغيل الرحلات من وإلى مطار جدة، مؤكداً أن ذلك يعكس عمق الشراكة والدعم الإنساني لليمن.

من جانبه، أوضح مدير عام مطار المخا الدولي المهندس خالد عبد اللطيف أن تدشين أول رحلة للخطوط الجوية اليمنية يأتي ثمرة جهود مستمرة لاستكمال الجوانب الفنية والتشغيلية وفق المعايير المعتمدة، موضحاً أن المطار جاهز لاستقبال الرحلات المدنية بكفاءة عالية ومعايير سلامة صارمة.

وأشار إلى أن إدارة المطار عملت بالتنسيق مع وزارة النقل، والهيئة العامة للطيران المدني، والخطوط الجوية اليمنية على تهيئة البنية التحتية والخدمات الأرضية والملاحية لضمان راحة المسافرين وتسهيل العمليات التشغيلية، مشيراً إلى أن هذا الإنجاز يمثل إضافة نوعية لمنظومة النقل الجوي ويخدم أبناء محافظة تعز والمحافظات المجاورة.
As preparations are underway to launch flights from Jeddah to Socotra (Tuesday), the Al-Mokha Airport in Taiz Governorate was inaugurated today (Sunday) with the first flight of Yemenia Airlines, as part of government efforts, supported by Saudi Arabia, to alleviate the suffering of the people of the besieged governorate and other provinces, especially after the destruction of Sana'a Airport.
Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan confirmed that the work on establishing the airport lasted for more than 6 years, explaining that what was previously seen as a dream or a figment of imagination has now become a tangible reality, and the airport will provide its services to citizens from Taiz Governorate and other provinces.

He pointed out that the airport is witnessing high organization and smooth procedures within its terminals, praising the great efforts made by the Director General of Al-Mokha International Airport and all the staff working at the airport, along with the local authority in the city of Al-Mokha, and the customs and port workers.
The governor praised the facilities provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the operation of flights to and from Jeddah Airport, confirming that this reflects the depth of the partnership and humanitarian support for Yemen.

For his part, the Director General of Al-Mokha International Airport, Engineer Khaled Abdul Latif, clarified that the launch of the first flight of Yemenia Airlines is the result of ongoing efforts to complete the technical and operational aspects according to the approved standards, explaining that the airport is ready to receive civil flights with high efficiency and strict safety standards.

He indicated that the airport management worked in coordination with the Ministry of Transport, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and Yemenia Airlines to prepare the infrastructure and ground and navigational services to ensure the comfort of travelers and facilitate operational processes, noting that this achievement represents a qualitative addition to the air transport system and serves the people of Taiz Governorate and neighboring provinces.
