أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أن حكومة إيران قد تسقط بسبب الاضطرابات التي تشهدها البلاد، وقال: حكومة إيران قد تسقط بسبب الاضطرابات لكن أي نظام يمكن أن يفشل.
وتساءل ترمب عما إذا كان زعيم المعارضة الإيرانية رضا بهلوي سيحظى بالدعم الكافي داخل إيران لقيادة البلاد.
وتابع في لقاء لرويترز: لا أعرف كيف سيتصرف بهلوي في بلاده. لا أعلم إن كان شعبه سيقبل قيادته أم لا، ولكن إن قبلوا، فسيكون ذلك مقبولا بالنسبة لي.
وأعلن ترمب (الأربعاء)، أنه تم إبلاغه بـ «توقف قتل المحتجين في إيران».
وفي تصريح للصحفيين، قال ترمب: قيل لي إن قتل المحتجين في إيران توقف، وإن الإعدامات لن تحصل، مشدداً: «نأمل أن تكون المعلومات بشأن توقف القتل في إيران صحيحة».
وحذر من أنه إذا لم يتوقف قتل المتظاهرين في إيران فسنكون غاضبين جدا.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that the Iranian government could fall due to the unrest the country is experiencing, saying: The Iranian government may fall because of the turmoil, but any regime can fail.
Trump questioned whether the Iranian opposition leader Reza Pahlavi would receive enough support within Iran to lead the country.
He continued in an interview with Reuters: I don’t know how Pahlavi will act in his country. I don’t know if his people will accept his leadership or not, but if they do, that would be acceptable to me.
Trump announced (on Wednesday) that he had been informed of the "halt in the killing of protesters in Iran."
In a statement to reporters, Trump said: I was told that the killing of protesters in Iran has stopped, and that executions will not take place, emphasizing: “We hope that the information regarding the halt of killings in Iran is correct.”
He warned that if the killing of demonstrators in Iran does not stop, we will be very angry.
