وصف المبعوث الأمريكي الخاص ستيف ويتكوف اليوم (الأحد) المحادثات التي عُقدت بين مسؤولين أمريكيين وأوروبيين وأوكرانيين على مدار الأيام الثلاثة الماضية في فلوريدا، وتهدف إلى إنهاء الصراع في أوكرانيا، بـ«المثمرة والبنّاءة».
وقال ويتكوف: «خلال الأيام الثلاثة الماضية عقد الوفد الأوكراني في فلوريدا سلسلة من اللقاءات البنّاءة والمثمرة مع الشركاء الأمريكيين والأوروبيين»، مضيفاً: «عُقد أيضاً لقاء بنّاء منفصل أمريكي أوكراني، تم إيلاء اهتمام خاص لبحث الأطر الزمنية وتتابع الخطوات التالية بشأن خطة السلام في أوكرانيا».
وأشار إلى أنه يجب ألا يكون السلام في أوكرانيا مجرد وقف للأعمال العدائية، بل أساس لمستقبل مستقر، لافتاً إلى أن الأولويات المشتركة تتمثل في وقف القتل وضمان أمن مكفول وتهيئة الظروف لتعافي أوكرانيا واستقرارها وازدهارها على المدى الطويل.
وكانت واشنطن قد قدمت الشهر الماضي خطة تضم 28 نقطة لإنهاء الحرب، لكن الأوكرانيين وحلفاءهم الأوروبيين اعتبروا أن النسخة الأولى منها مواتية أكثر لموسكو، قبل تعديلها عقب التشاور مع كييف والاتحاد الأوروبي، غير أن رفض تلك التعديلات وصفها بأنها «غير بنّاءة».
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff described today (Sunday) the talks held between American, European, and Ukrainian officials over the past three days in Florida, aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine, as "fruitful and constructive."
Witkoff said, "During the past three days, the Ukrainian delegation in Florida held a series of constructive and fruitful meetings with American and European partners," adding, "A separate constructive U.S.-Ukrainian meeting was also held, with special attention given to discussing the timelines and sequence of next steps regarding the peace plan for Ukraine."
He noted that peace in Ukraine should not just be a cessation of hostilities, but a foundation for a stable future, pointing out that the shared priorities are to stop the killing, ensure guaranteed security, and create the conditions for Ukraine's recovery, stability, and long-term prosperity.
Washington had presented a 28-point plan last month to end the war, but Ukrainians and their European allies considered the initial version to be more favorable to Moscow, before it was amended following consultations with Kyiv and the European Union. However, the rejection of those amendments was described as "non-constructive."
