قضت محكمة جنايات خاصة في باريس، أمس (الخميس)، بسجن فرنسية عشر سنوات لإدانتها بالانتماء إلى تنظيم داعش الإرهابي، بعد عودتها من مخيمات شمال شرق سورية.
وتمت إدانة كارول سون بتهمة الانتماء «إلى عصابة أشرار إرهابية»، في ختام محاكمة استغرقت 3 أيام، وأرفقت عقوبة الحبس 10سنوات بقرار إخضاع سون لمتابعة اجتماعية-قضائية لمدة 5 سنوات، إضافة إلى أمر بتوفير العلاج لها.
وكانت سون توجهت إلى سورية في يوليو 2014 عندما كانت في الثامنة عشرة برفقة شقيقها الذي يكبرها بعام، واعتقلتها القوات الكردية في ديسمبر 2017 على ضفاف نهر الفرات عند انهيار التنظيم. وعادت كارول سون البالغة اليوم 30 عاماً إلى فرنسا في 5 يوليو 2022.
وأظهرت المحاكمة أن سون تأثرت بالتوجهات المتطرفة عبر شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي، وبررت انضمامها إلى تنظيم داعش بصدمات في حياتها، من بينها تعرّضها لاغتصاب جماعي عندما كانت في الرابعة عشرة.
وأفاد القاضي بأن المتهمة المتحدرة من عائلة ذات تقاليد مسيحية في ضواحي باريس، خالطت خلال وجودها في سورية «أشخاصاً معروفين بفظائعهم»، أو يقاتلون في وحدات تضمّ بعض منفذي اعتداءات باريس في 13 نوفمبر 2015.
ومن بين النساء اللواتي يشكّلن أكثر من ثلث نحو 1500 فرنسي توجهوا إلى العراق وسورية، عادَت 160 إلى اليوم، بحسب المحامية العامة، ومنذ 2017، حوكمت 30 منهن أمام محكمة الجنايات الخاصة، فيما حوكمت أخريات أمام محاكم جنايات عادية.
A special criminal court in Paris ruled yesterday (Thursday) to imprison a French woman for ten years for her conviction of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS, after her return from camps in northeastern Syria.
Carol Sun was convicted of belonging "to a terrorist gang," at the conclusion of a trial that lasted 3 days. The 10-year prison sentence was accompanied by a decision to subject Sun to social-judicial monitoring for 5 years, in addition to an order to provide her with treatment.
Sun traveled to Syria in July 2014 when she was eighteen, accompanied by her brother who is a year older. She was arrested by Kurdish forces in December 2017 on the banks of the Euphrates River as the organization collapsed. Carol Sun, now 30 years old, returned to France on July 5, 2022.
The trial revealed that Sun was influenced by extremist views through social media, and she justified her joining ISIS by citing traumas in her life, including being gang-raped when she was fourteen.
The judge stated that the defendant, who comes from a family with Christian traditions in the suburbs of Paris, associated in Syria with "people known for their atrocities," or who fought in units that included some of the attackers of the Paris attacks on November 13, 2015.
Among the women who make up more than a third of about 1,500 French nationals who went to Iraq and Syria, 160 have returned to date, according to the public prosecutor. Since 2017, 30 of them have been tried before the special criminal court, while others have been tried before ordinary criminal courts.
