قلل وزير الدفاع الفنزويلي، فلاديمير بادرينو لوبيز، اليوم (الأربعاء)، من أهمية تهديدات الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، مؤكداً أنها لا تخيفهم.
وقال لوبيز، خلال فعالية حضرها كبار القادة الذين تعهدوا بالولاء للرئيس نيكولاس مادورو: «نقول للحكومة الأمريكية ورئيسها إننا لا نخاف تهديداتهم الفظة والمتغطرسة»، جاء ذلك بعد أن أمر ترمب بفرض حصار على ناقلات النفط الخاضعة للعقوبات والمتجهة إلى فنزويلا أو المغادرة منها.
وأضاف وزير الدفاع الفنزويلي: «لا مساومة على كرامة هذا الوطن ولا رضوخ لأيٍ كان».
في غضون ذلك، أعلن وزير الخارجية الصيني، وانغ يي، دعم بلاده لجهود فنزويلا لحماية سيادتها الوطنية ومعارضة أي شكل من أشكال الضغط أحادي الجانب، جاء ذلك خلال محادثة هاتفية مع وزير الخارجية الفنزويلي إيفان هيل بينتو جرت بمبادرة من الجانب الفنزويلي.
وقال وانغ يي: «الصين وفنزويلا شريكان إستراتيجيان يسود علاقتهما الثقة والدعم المتبادلان، تعارض الصين كل أشكال الضغط أحادي الجانب، وتدعم جهود جميع الدول لحماية سيادتها وكرامتها الوطنية».
وأوضح وزير الخارجية الصيني أن فنزويلا لها كامل الحق في تطوير تعاون متبادل المنفعة مع الدول الأخرى بشكل مستقل، معرباً عن ثقته بأن المجتمع الدولي يتفهم ويدعم موقف كاراكاس في حماية حقوقها ومصالحها المشروعة.
وأطلع هيل بينتو نظيره الصيني على الوضع الراهن في بلاده، مؤكداً أن حكومة وشعب فنزويلا سيدافعون بحزم عن سيادة البلاد واستقلالها، ويحمون حقوقهم المشروعة، ولن يقبلوا أية تهديدات نابعة من سياسة القوة.
The Venezuelan Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino Lopez, downplayed the significance of the threats from U.S. President Donald Trump today (Wednesday), asserting that they do not scare them.
Lopez stated during an event attended by senior leaders who pledged loyalty to President Nicolas Maduro: “We tell the U.S. government and its president that we are not afraid of their crude and arrogant threats.” This came after Trump ordered a blockade on oil tankers subject to sanctions heading to or leaving Venezuela.
The Venezuelan Defense Minister added: “There is no compromise on the dignity of this homeland, nor submission to anyone.”
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced his country's support for Venezuela's efforts to protect its national sovereignty and oppose any form of unilateral pressure, during a phone conversation with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto initiated by the Venezuelan side.
Wang Yi stated: “China and Venezuela are strategic partners characterized by mutual trust and support. China opposes all forms of unilateral pressure and supports the efforts of all countries to protect their sovereignty and national dignity.”
The Chinese Foreign Minister clarified that Venezuela has the full right to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries independently, expressing confidence that the international community understands and supports Caracas's position in protecting its legitimate rights and interests.
Gil Pinto briefed his Chinese counterpart on the current situation in his country, affirming that the government and people of Venezuela will firmly defend the country's sovereignty and independence, protect their legitimate rights, and will not accept any threats stemming from a policy of power.
