بدورها، قالت منظمة العفو الدولية إن ما أقدم عليه رئيس وزراء ولاية بيهار الهندية، نيتش كومار، والمتمثل في إزالة حجاب السيدة نُصرت برفين يمثل اعتداءً على كرامتها وحريتها وهويتها، موضحة أن ما قام به المسؤول الحكومي الهندي الكبير يبعث برسالة خطأ مفادها أن مثل هذا السلوك مقبول.
سلوك يرسخ الخوف
وأشار رئيس مجلس إدارة المنظمة، أكار باتيل، إلى أن هذا الفعل يرسخ الخوف ويطبّع مع التمييز ويقوض أسس المساواة وحرية الدين، داعيًا إلى إدانة قاطعة له ومحاسبة المسؤول عنه، واتخاذ خطوات عاجلة لضمان عدم إخضاع أي امرأة لمعاملة مهينة مماثلة.
وأكدت المنظمة أن اختيار ارتداء لباس ديني أو رموز دينية وثقافية من عدمه هو حق فردي يندرج ضمن حرية التعبير وحرية الدين أو المعتقد، وأن الواقعة تمثل انتهاكًا خطيرًا لسلامة برفين الجسدية.

Indian activists circulated a video of the Prime Minister reaching towards the doctor's hijab in front of the audience and removing it, while Health Minister Mangal Pandey and the Prime Minister's Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar were seen laughing, which provoked angry reactions in political and public circles within India.

Opposition parties described the act as inappropriate and an affront to women's dignity and personal freedom, asserting that the incident represents a clear violation of freedom of belief and religious appearance and a disregard for the sensitivity of religious diversity in the country.
For its part, Amnesty International stated that what the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, did by removing the hijab of Ms. Nasrat Parveen constitutes an assault on her dignity, freedom, and identity, clarifying that the actions of this senior Indian government official send the wrong message that such behavior is acceptable.

Chairman of the organization, Akar Patel, pointed out that this act instills fear, normalizes discrimination, and undermines the foundations of equality and religious freedom, calling for a strong condemnation of it and accountability for those responsible, as well as urgent steps to ensure that no woman is subjected to similar degrading treatment.
The organization emphasized that the choice to wear religious attire or cultural symbols is an individual right that falls under freedom of expression and freedom of religion or belief, and that the incident represents a serious violation of Parveen's physical integrity.
