أعلنت وزارة الخارجية المصرية، أنهاتتابع حادث غرق مركب هجرة غير شرعية توجه من إحدى الدول المجاورة إلى اليونان في السابع من ديسمبر الجاري، كان على متنه 34 من المهاجرين غير الشرعيين من جنسيات مختلفة، بينهم 14 مواطناً مصرياً لاقوا حتفهم.
وأفادت وزارة الخارجية والهجرة وشئون المصريين بالخارج، في بيان لها اليوم (الثلاثاء) أنه فور ورود معلومات عن غرق المركب، كلف وزير الخارجية الدكتور بدر عبد العاطي، السفارة المصرية في اليونان بسرعة التواصل على أعلى مستوى مع السلطات اليونانية لتقديم المساعدة الممكنة لمن تم إنقاذهم من المركب، وكذلك سرعة شحن جثامين المتوفين الذين تم انتشال جثثهم، وذلك بعد الانتهاء من الإجراءات القانونية، حيث تواصلت السفارة المصرية في أثينا مع أسر المتوفين لترتيب نقل الجثامين إلى أرض الوطن.
وجددت الوزارة المصرية مناشداتها للمواطنين بعدم الانجرار وراء عصابات الهجرة غير الشرعية حفاظًا على أرواح المواطنين، وكذلك اتباع الطرق القانونية المتعلقة بالدخول إلى الدول الأجنبية من خلال تأشيرات دخول قانونية تجنياً لتكرار مثل هذه الحوادث المؤسفة، كما تقدمت بالتعازي إلى أهالي المتوفين ممن لاقوا حتفهم خلال هذا الحادث الأليم.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is following up on the incident of a boat sinking during an illegal migration attempt from one of the neighboring countries to Greece on December 7th, which had 34 illegal migrants of various nationalities on board, including 14 Egyptian citizens who lost their lives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs stated in a statement today (Tuesday) that as soon as information about the sinking of the boat was received, Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Atty instructed the Egyptian embassy in Greece to quickly communicate at the highest level with the Greek authorities to provide possible assistance to those rescued from the boat, as well as to expedite the shipment of the bodies of the deceased who were recovered, after completing the legal procedures. The Egyptian embassy in Athens has been in contact with the families of the deceased to arrange for the repatriation of the bodies to their homeland.
The Egyptian ministry renewed its appeals to citizens not to fall prey to illegal migration gangs to protect the lives of citizens, as well as to follow legal procedures related to entering foreign countries through legal entry visas to avoid the recurrence of such unfortunate incidents. It also extended its condolences to the families of the deceased who lost their lives in this tragic incident.
