ندد الرئيس اللبناني العماد جوزيف عون اليوم (الأحد) باستهداف إسرائيل الضاحية الجنوبية في اليوم الذي يحتفل فيها اللبنانيون، معتبراً القصف «دليلاً إضافياً» على أنها لا تأبه للدعوات المتكررة لوقف اعتداءاتها، وترفض تطبيق القرارات الدولية والمساعي الرامية لوضع حد للتصعيد وإعادة الاستقرار إلى لبنان والمنطقة.
وقال عون في بيان: «لبنان، الذي التزم وقف الأعمال العدائية منذ نحو سنة، وقدم المبادرة تلو الأخرى، يجدد دعوته للمجتمع الدولي لتحمل مسؤولياته والتدخل بقوة وبجدية لوقف الاعتداءات على لبنان وشعبه، منعاً لأي تدهور يعيد التوتر إلى المنطقة، وحقناً لمزيد من الدماء».
وكانت وزارة الصحة اللبنانية أكدت أن الغارة الجوية التي استهدفت منطقة حارة حريك في الضاحية الجنوبية أسفرت عن مقتل شخص وإصابة 21 آخرين.
وكان جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي قد أقر باستهداف من وصفه بـ«رئيس أركان حزب الله»، في إشارة إلى القيادي البارز هيثم علي الطبطبائي، داخل منطقة تعد الأكثر تحصيناً أمنياً للحزب.
The Lebanese President, General Joseph Aoun, condemned today (Sunday) Israel's targeting of the southern suburbs on the day Lebanese people are celebrating, considering the bombing as "additional evidence" that it does not care about repeated calls to stop its aggressions, and refuses to implement international resolutions and efforts aimed at putting an end to the escalation and restoring stability to Lebanon and the region.
Aoun stated in a statement: "Lebanon, which has committed to cease hostilities for nearly a year and has presented initiative after initiative, renews its call to the international community to assume its responsibilities and intervene forcefully and seriously to stop the aggressions against Lebanon and its people, to prevent any deterioration that would bring back tension to the region, and to stem further bloodshed."
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that the airstrike targeting the Haret Hreik area in the southern suburbs resulted in the death of one person and the injury of 21 others.
The Israeli occupation army acknowledged targeting what it described as the "Chief of Staff of Hezbollah," referring to the prominent leader Haitham Ali Al-Tabtabaei, within an area considered to be the most securely fortified for the party.
