فقد الوسط الإعلامي اللبناني واحداً من أبرز وجوهه برحيل الإعلامي بسام برّاك عن عمر ناهز 53 عاماً، بعد معاناة طويلة مع المرض، تاركاً خلفه إرثاً مهنياً وثقافياً غنياً امتد لسنوات من العطاء في مجال الإعلام والتعليم.
عُرف برّاك بصوته الرصين وأسلوبه المتقن في تقديم البرامج، وبشغفه بالحفاظ على اللغة العربية وتعزيز مكانتها في الإعلام المعاصر، حتى لُقّب بـ«سفير اللغة العربية» بعد فوزه في مسابقات عدة تعنى بالإملاء والتعبير السليم.
بدأ برّاك مسيرته من إذاعة صوت لبنان قبل أن يتنقل بين مؤسسات إعلامية بارزة منها قناة «إل بي سي» الفضائية، حيث تألق مذيعاً ومقدماً لبرامج سياسية وثقافية استضاف خلالها عدداً من الشخصيات اللبنانية البارزة. كما عُرف بدوره الأكاديمي والتعليمي في تدريب الإعلاميين الشباب على مهارات الإلقاء وفن التعامل مع الكاميرا، في مؤسسات جامعية مرموقة.
لم يقتصر حضوره على الشاشة فحسب، بل كان أيضاً مؤلفاً وكاتباً مهتماً بتوثيق التجربة الإعلامية، وصدرت له مؤلفات أبرزها كتاب «توالي الحبر» عام 2018 الذي يُجسّد رؤيته للغة العربية بوصفها وعاءً للهوية والثقافة.
بسام برّاك سيبقى في ذاكرة الإعلام اللبناني نموذجاً للالتزام، والإتقان، وحب اللغة التي كرّس حياته لخدمتها.
The Lebanese media landscape has lost one of its most prominent figures with the passing of journalist Bassam Barak at the age of 53, after a long battle with illness, leaving behind a rich professional and cultural legacy that spanned years of contribution in the fields of media and education.
Barak was known for his measured voice and his skillful style in presenting programs, as well as his passion for preserving the Arabic language and enhancing its status in contemporary media, earning him the title of "Ambassador of the Arabic Language" after winning several competitions focused on spelling and proper expression.
Barak began his career at the Voice of Lebanon radio station before moving between prominent media institutions, including the LBC satellite channel, where he shone as a presenter of political and cultural programs, hosting a number of notable Lebanese figures. He was also recognized for his academic and educational role in training young journalists on presentation skills and the art of dealing with the camera at prestigious university institutions.
His presence was not limited to the screen; he was also an author and writer interested in documenting the media experience, with notable works including the book "The Flow of Ink" published in 2018, which embodies his vision of the Arabic language as a vessel for identity and culture.
Bassam Barak will remain in the memory of Lebanese media as a model of commitment, excellence, and love for the language to which he dedicated his life.
