بعد اختفائها عدة ساعات، وتكهنات باحتمال إقدامها على الانتحار، أعلن وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي المتطرف إيتمار بن غفير،اعتقال المدعية العسكرية المستقيلة يفعات تومر يروشالمي، في إطار التحقيق بتسريب فيديو تعذيب الأسير الفلسطيني بمعتقل سدي تيمان.
وقال بن غفير في منشور على تليغرام، اليوم (الإثنين): «تم الاتفاق في ضوء أحداث الليلة الماضية على أن تتصرف مصلحة السجون بيقظة إضافية، لضمان سلامة الموقوفة في مركز التوقيف حيث تم وضعها قيد الاحتجاز».
ونقلت القناة الـ12 الإسرائيلية عن مصادر قولها: إنه يُعتقد أن المدعية العسكرية لم تحاول الانتحار وأنها حاولت التخلص من أحد هواتفها في البحر.
وكانت قوات من الشرطة والجيش أجرت عمليات بحث واسعة للوصول إلى يروشالمي أمس (الأحد)، بعد فقدان الاتصال بها وانتشار أنباء عن احتمال إقدامها على الانتحار على خلفية حملة التحريض التي استهدفتها من جانب اليمين الحاكم بقيادة رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو المطلوب للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية بتهم ارتكاب جرائم حرب في غزة.
وأعلن جيش الاحتلال يوم الجمعة الماضي أن يروشالمي استقالت من منصبها في إطار التحقيق بشأن الفيديو المسرب الذي بثته القناة الـ12 الإسرائيلية في أغسطس 2024، والذي يُظهر تعذيبا واعتداء جنسيا على أسير فلسطيني على يد جنود إسرائيليين في معسكر سدي تيمان بصحراء النقب. ووفق وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية، فإن المدعية العسكرية تحملت مسؤولية تسريب الفيديو.
ووثق الفيديو جانبا مما يتعرض له الأسرى الفلسطينيون في سجون الاحتلال، خصوصا مع اتساع نطاق التعذيب والانتهاكات تزامنا مع حرب الإبادة الإسرائيلية في غزة على مدى عامين، حيث استشهد عشرات الأسرى في السجون بحسب ما وثقته تقارير فلسطينية ودولية.
After her disappearance for several hours and speculations about the possibility of her committing suicide, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir announced the arrest of the resigned military prosecutor Yifat Tomer Yerushalmi as part of the investigation into the leak of a video showing the torture of a Palestinian prisoner at the Sde Teyman detention center.
Ben Gvir stated in a post on Telegram today (Monday): "It was agreed, in light of last night's events, that the prison service will act with additional vigilance to ensure the safety of the detainee at the detention center where she has been placed under custody."
Israeli Channel 12 reported, citing sources, that it is believed the military prosecutor did not attempt suicide and that she tried to dispose of one of her phones in the sea.
Police and army forces conducted extensive searches to locate Yerushalmi yesterday (Sunday) after losing contact with her and news spread about the possibility of her committing suicide amid a campaign of incitement against her from the ruling right-wing led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of committing war crimes in Gaza.
The occupation army announced last Friday that Yerushalmi had resigned from her position as part of the investigation into the leaked video that was broadcast by Israeli Channel 12 in August 2024, which shows torture and sexual assault of a Palestinian prisoner by Israeli soldiers at the Sde Teyman camp in the Negev desert. According to Israeli media, the military prosecutor took responsibility for the video leak.
The video documented a glimpse of what Palestinian prisoners endure in the occupation's prisons, especially as the scope of torture and violations has expanded alongside the Israeli genocide in Gaza over the past two years, where dozens of prisoners have been martyred in prisons according to reports documented by Palestinian and international sources.
