ألقت الأجهزة الأمنية السورية، اليوم (الإثنين)، القبض على العقيد السابق محمد نديم الشب في محافظة اللاذقية، وبحسب وزارة الداخلية السورية فإن الشب يُعدّ الذراع اليمنى لقائد ما كان يُعرف بمليشيا «صقور الصحراء» خلال فترة النظام السابق محمد جابر.
وأوضحت الوزارة في بيان أن الشب تورّط في تنفيذ عمليات استهدفت مواقع تابعة للأمن الداخلي ووزارة الدفاع في مدينة اللاذقية، مبينة أن التحقيقات ما تزال جارية لمعرفة الجهات التي كان يتعامل معها والمخططات التي كان يشارك في تنفيذها.
ويُعدّ اعتقال الشب خطوة بارزة في إطار الجهود الأمنية المستمرة لتعقّب عناصر وقيادات المليشيات السابقة المتورطة بجرائم وانتهاكات خلال سنوات الحرب، التي حاول بعضها إعادة التموضع بعد سقوط النظام.
وكانت الداخلية السورية قد أعلنت أمس القبض على علي فلارة، القيادي سابق في فرع فلسطين، المتورط في تشكيل خلية إرهابية مرتبطة بفلول النظام السابق، خلال عملية نوعية نفذتها قيادة الأمن الداخلي في محافظة طرطوس بالتعاون مع فرع مكافحة الإرهاب.
من جهة أخرى، ذكر مصدر في وزارة الداخلية السورية أن الأجهزة الأمنية ضبطت 12 مليون حبة كبتاغون في ريف دمشق، ضمن واحدة من أكبر عمليات مكافحة المخدرات في البلاد، موضحاً أن قوى الأمن تواصل ملاحقة المتورطين في شبكة ضخمة لتهريب المخدرات.
وأكد المصدر أن التحقيقات لا تزال جارية لتحديد باقي المتورطين ومسارات التهريب.
The Syrian security forces arrested former Colonel Mohammed Nadim Al-Shab today (Monday) in the Latakia Governorate. According to the Syrian Ministry of Interior, Al-Shab is considered the right-hand man of the leader of what was known as the "Desert Hawks" militia during the era of the previous regime, Mohammed Jabir.
The ministry clarified in a statement that Al-Shab was involved in carrying out operations targeting sites belonging to the internal security and the Ministry of Defense in the city of Latakia, indicating that investigations are still ongoing to identify the parties he was dealing with and the plans he was participating in executing.
The arrest of Al-Shab is seen as a significant step in the ongoing security efforts to track down elements and leaders of the former militias involved in crimes and violations during the years of war, some of which attempted to reposition themselves after the fall of the regime.
Yesterday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of Ali Flarah, a former leader in the Palestine branch, who was involved in forming a terrorist cell linked to the remnants of the previous regime, during a special operation carried out by the internal security leadership in the Tartus Governorate in cooperation with the Anti-Terrorism Branch.
On another note, a source in the Syrian Ministry of Interior mentioned that the security forces seized 12 million Captagon pills in the Damascus countryside, as part of one of the largest drug control operations in the country, explaining that the security forces continue to pursue those involved in a massive drug trafficking network.
The source confirmed that investigations are still ongoing to identify the remaining perpetrators and the smuggling routes.
