شنت المتحدثة باسم الخارجية الروسية ماريا زاخاروفا هجوما على الاتحاد الأوروبي، متهمة إياه بعرقلة أي تحرك سلمي بشأن أوكرانيا. واعتبرت أن التكتل الأوروبي انتقل إلى «جهود تخريبية نشطة» قبيل القمة المرتقبة بين الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين ونظيره الأمريكي دونالد ترمب.
وقالت زاخاروفا في مقابلة مع وكالة «تاس»، اليوم (الإثنين): «نرى ونسمع ما يحدث ضمن جمود وسوء فهم لما يحدث»، مضيفة أن الاتحاد الأوروبي والمجتمع الأوروبي الغربي العدواني لجأ إلى إجراءات تخريبية نشطة، التي يفضلونها، لقد عادوا للإدلاء بتصريحات، وتهديدات، وما إلى ذلك.
إحباط أي طموحات سلام
وأكدت أن هذه التحركات تهدف إلى إحباط أي طموحات سلام، بدءا من الحديث عن مفاوضات السلام ووصولا إلى الإجراءات الفعلية.
وذكرت أنهم يبذلون قصارى جهدهم لتصعيد الصراع، تماما كما فعلوا في عام 2022، بتعطيل مفاوضات السلام التي طلبها نظام كييف، والتي أتاحتها بلادنا.
وقالت زاخاروفا: «لقد دأبوا على فعل ذلك طوال هذه السنوات، مُخفين ذلك، بين الحين والآخر، بتصريحات حول سلام مفترض ومبادرات سلام مفترضة. في الواقع، إنهم يبذلون قصارى جهدهم للتصعيد. من الصعب الجزم بمدى إدراكهم لما يفعلونه، نظرا لكثرة غير المحترفين الذين يتولون قيادة كل هذه الدول الأوروبية الغربية، وغير المتخصصين من حيث التعليم أو الخبرة أو المهنة»، واصفة القادة بأنهم «مجرد واجهات تتحدث».
حزمة عقوبات جديدة
من جانبها، وصفت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية بالاتحاد الأوروبي كايا كالاس سفر بوتين إلى المجر، العضو في الاتحاد الأوروبي، لإجراء محادثات بشأن أوكرانيا بأنه «ليس شيئا لطيفا».
وقالت كالاس للصحفيين، اليوم (الإثنين)، قبيل اجتماع لوزراء الخارجية الأوروبيين في لوكسمبورغ: إن جهود ترمب لإحلال السلام موضع ترحيب، لكن من المهم أيضا أن يلتقي الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي بالزعيم الروسي.
وأضافت أن لدى أمريكا قوة كبيرة للضغط على روسيا للجلوس على طاولة المفاوضات، وإذا استخدمتها، فسيكون من الجيد بالطبع أن توقف روسيا هذه الحرب. وتوقعت اعتماد الحزمة 19 من العقوبات على روسيا هذا الأسبوع، لكنها أوضحت أن الموافقة لن تتم اليوم.
بدوره، قال وزير الخارجية الليتواني كيستوتيس بودريس إنه لا مكان لبوتين في أي عاصمة أوروبية.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي، أعلن الخميس، أنه سيلتقي مع نظيره الروسي قريبا في بودابست لمواصلة النقاشات حول كيفية إنهاء الحرب في أوكرانيا، بعد مكالمة طويلة بينهما.
The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, launched an attack on the European Union, accusing it of obstructing any peaceful move regarding Ukraine. She considered that the European bloc has shifted to "active sabotage efforts" ahead of the anticipated summit between President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump.
Zakharova said in an interview with the TASS agency today (Monday): "We see and hear what is happening within the stagnation and misunderstanding of what is happening," adding that the European Union and the aggressive Western European community have resorted to active sabotage measures, which they prefer. They have returned to making statements, threats, and so on.
Frustrating Any Peace Aspirations
She confirmed that these moves aim to frustrate any peace aspirations, starting from discussions about peace negotiations to actual measures.
She mentioned that they are doing their utmost to escalate the conflict, just as they did in 2022, by disrupting the peace negotiations requested by the Kyiv regime, which our country facilitated.
Zakharova said: "They have been doing this for all these years, hiding it, from time to time, with statements about supposed peace and hypothetical peace initiatives. In reality, they are doing their utmost to escalate. It is difficult to determine the extent of their awareness of what they are doing, given the many unprofessionals who are leading all these Western European countries, and the non-specialists in terms of education, experience, or profession," describing the leaders as "mere facades that speak."
New Sanctions Package
For her part, the EU's foreign policy chief, Kaia Kallas, described Putin's visit to Hungary, a member of the EU, for talks on Ukraine as "not a nice thing."
Kallas told reporters today (Monday), ahead of a meeting of European foreign ministers in Luxembourg, that Trump's efforts to achieve peace are welcome, but it is also important for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to meet with the Russian leader.
She added that the U.S. has significant leverage to pressure Russia to sit at the negotiating table, and if it uses it, it would certainly be good for Russia to stop this war. She anticipated the adoption of the 19th sanctions package against Russia this week, but clarified that approval would not happen today.
For his part, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis stated that there is no place for Putin in any European capital.
The American president announced on Thursday that he would meet with his Russian counterpart soon in Budapest to continue discussions on how to end the war in Ukraine, following a long phone call between them.
