أعلنت إسلام آباد اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن باكستان وإدارة طالبان الأفغانية اتفقتا على وقف إطلاق نار مؤقت لمدة 48 ساعة، يبدأ الساعة 6:00 مساءً بالتوقيت المحلي الباكستاني (1300 غرينتش)، بعد اندلاع قتال جديد بين الجارتين على الحدود.
ووفقاً لبيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية الباكستانية، ستبذل الدولتان جهوداً صادقة من خلال الحوار للوصول إلى حل إيجابي للقضية المعقدة لكنها قابلة للحل، وسط تصعيد التوترات الأخيرة التي أسفرت عن مقتل عشرات المدنيين وإصابة المئات.
جاء الاتفاق بعد طلب من الجانب الأفغاني، وفقاً لمصادر رسمية، ويهدف إلى إنشاء مساحة للحوار البنّاء، وقد أكدت الإمارة الإسلامية في أفغانستان أنها وجهت قواتها بالالتزام بالوقف، الذي يبدأ الساعة 5:30 مساءً بالتوقيت الأفغاني (أي 6:00 مساءً باكستانياً)، مع الإشارة إلى أن أي انتهاك سيُواجه برد قوي.

محادثات باكستانية أفغانية
ومن المتوقع عقد محادثات بين وزارتي الخارجية الباكستانية والأفغانية، غدًا (الخميس) لمناقشة تمديد الاتفاق إذا نجح.
وأدى الاشتباك الأخير، الذي وقع في منطقة تشامان على الحدود بين إقليم بلوشستان الباكستاني ومقاطعة قندهار الأفغانية، إلى مقتل أكثر من 12 مدنياً وإصابة عشرات آخرين، بما في ذلك نساء وأطفال، وفقاً لتقارير منظمة الأمم المتحدة وشهود عيان.

وقد رد الجيش الباكستاني بضربات دقيقة استهدفت معاقل طالبان في قندهار وكابول، ما أدى إلى تدمير عدة كتائب ووحدات حدودية، وقتل عشرات المقاتلين، كما أفادت مصادر أمنية باكستانية. ووصف وزير الدفاع الباكستاني خواجة آصف العلاقات مع كابول حالياً بأنها «عدائية»، مع عدم وجود علاقات رسمية، محذراً من استئناف القتال في أي لحظة إذا انهار الاتفاق.

ويأتي هذا التصعيد في سياق توترات مستمرة منذ عودة طالبان إلى السلطة في أغسطس 2021، حيث تتهم باكستان إدارة طالبان بدعم جماعات إرهابية مثل تحريك طالبان الباكستانية (TTP)، التي تشن هجمات من الأراضي الأفغانية.
اتهامات متبادلة بين البلدين
وفي الوقت نفسه، تتهم طالبان باكستان بدعم المعارضة الأفغانية داخل البلاد. وأسفرت الاشتباكات الأخيرة عن إغلاق معبر تشامان الحدودي، الذي يعتمد عليه آلاف التجار والمسافرين يومياً، ما أثر على التجارة الثنائية التي بلغت قيمتها 2.5 مليار دولار في 2024.
ودعت الأمم المتحدة والولايات المتحدة إلى ضبط النفس، مشيرة إلى أن أي تصعيد قد يؤدي إلى أزمة إنسانية إقليمية، خصوصاً مع نزوح آلاف السكان في المناطق الحدودية.
ويُعتبر هذا الاتفاق خطوة أولى هشة نحو تهدئة، لكنه يعتمد على نجاح الحوار المرتقب، وسط مخاوف من تكرار الاشتباكات السابقة التي أدت إلى مقتل مئات في 2023 و2024.
Islamabad announced today (Wednesday) that Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban administration have agreed to a temporary ceasefire for 48 hours, starting at 6:00 PM local Pakistan time (1300 GMT), following the outbreak of new fighting between the two neighbors along the border.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, the two countries will make sincere efforts through dialogue to reach a positive solution to the complex yet solvable issue, amid escalating tensions that have resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians and injuries to hundreds.
The agreement came after a request from the Afghan side, according to official sources, and aims to create space for constructive dialogue. The Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan confirmed that it has directed its forces to adhere to the ceasefire, which begins at 5:30 PM Afghan time (i.e., 6:00 PM Pakistan time), noting that any violation will be met with a strong response.

Pakistani-Afghan Talks
Talks between the foreign ministries of Pakistan and Afghanistan are expected to be held tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss the extension of the agreement if it is successful.
The recent clash, which occurred in the Chaman area along the border between Pakistan's Balochistan province and Afghanistan's Kandahar province, resulted in the deaths of more than 12 civilians and injuries to dozens of others, including women and children, according to reports from the United Nations and eyewitnesses.

The Pakistani army responded with precise strikes targeting Taliban strongholds in Kandahar and Kabul, leading to the destruction of several battalions and border units, and the deaths of dozens of fighters, according to Pakistani security sources. Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif described the current relations with Kabul as "hostile," with no official relations, warning that fighting could resume at any moment if the agreement collapses.

This escalation comes amid ongoing tensions since the Taliban returned to power in August 2021, with Pakistan accusing the Taliban administration of supporting terrorist groups such as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which conducts attacks from Afghan territory.
Mutual Accusations Between the Two Countries
At the same time, the Taliban accuses Pakistan of supporting the Afghan opposition within the country. The recent clashes have led to the closure of the Chaman border crossing, which thousands of traders and travelers rely on daily, affecting bilateral trade valued at $2.5 billion in 2024.
The United Nations and the United States have called for restraint, noting that any escalation could lead to a regional humanitarian crisis, especially with the displacement of thousands of residents in border areas.
This agreement is considered a fragile first step towards de-escalation, but it depends on the success of the upcoming dialogue, amid fears of a recurrence of previous clashes that resulted in the deaths of hundreds in 2023 and 2024.
